Police Brutality?

Hello all..
I've been checking out all sorts of media in preperation for my move down (32 days left), and I keep coming across articles on Police shootings in the VI.
For example...
http://www.virginislandsdailynews.com/index.pl/dforce

So, whats the deal everybody? Is this a problem on every island? Which Island seems to have the most trouble with this? From an outsiders perpective, it seems that the local Gov't and the police bureau are seditiously corrupt and seemingly out of legal reach. Of course I didn't find anything about this in any of my travel brochures. Local media is the only real source for the info that I've found. Is this the VI's dirty little secret?

Please do tell,
Jesse

A topic widely written about on this message board. I'd suggest a search to read the many many many many many posts on this subject.

This is not intended as a non-answer to a legitimate question, instead it is the best way I can possibly answer this broad topic question. We all have opinions. Personally I would not let opinions or the reportage of such 'news' to be what keeps you from your plans.

That particular story has some missing pieces I can assure you. I do believe however that many cases are being investigated and any improprieties will be brought to justice. When is the question.

I looked back a couple months on this board and didn't see anything. I'll dig a little deeper.
Thanks,
Jesse

What?

I know the guy who wrote those articles. He shoulda won a Pulitzer for it. To date, NOTHING has been done in respose to the issues raised by Deadly Force, nor has the VIPD ever bothered to offer another side to the story.

What do you know that Lee Williams didn't?
