My daughter and myself will be on STT for a week beginning Jan 19 for a quick visit. We plan on moving August 2 (the delays are killing me!). We are going to visit Antilles School and the Montessori school in Red Hook to choose where my daughter will be attending. She is starting 7th grade in the fall 2005. For those who are interested, Shournagh McWeeney at Montessori was very helpful. She explained that while the Montessori currently teaches K-8, they are planning to add 1 grade per year, so theoretically if I choose to send my daughter there she would be able to finish out high school there instead of transferring to Antilles after middle school. She also sent us a brochure and some great information about the school.
Anyway, I don't suppose there is a get-together planned in that week? Probably not, but hey, thought I'd ask.

Cali: I thought that Montessori added 9th grade this year? Your daughter would be in great shape for high school there. They'll have a couple of years to work the kinks out! 😉

I agree! I think the Montessori program is wonderful and you're right, it gives us plenty of time. I didn't hear about the 9th grade being added, but I believe you - you live there! We can't wait to live there, too.
