Less than a month to the election. I can hardly wait to get rid of all the darn signs!!

Things that make me say, "WHA??"

Donastorg's campaign signs are still up in many places.

The ad in the paper yesterday with Governor Turnbull- isn't he "former gov?"- endorsing Ken Mapp.

I still don't know a single thing about most of the candidates.

There has been some debates on PBS, not really debates but candidates giving their pitch. What is hard to believe is after all they have been through that Donastorg , the player ran, Mapp the resident of Georgia is running and Chucky Hansen, the crook is still around.and the person that stole all the abandoned vehicle money is too. cheese and bread

I think some titles, Governor, Judge, President, are titles that, once acquired, are properly used throughout a person's lifetime. So that Jimmy Carter is and will always be referred to as President Carter. Usually in a news story, the first time the person is mentioned so is the fact that he is a "former". After that they just use the title.

I was kind of wondering if an endorsement from Gov. Turnbull was considered a good thing?

Not in my book! I hear Schneider might endorse Mapp as well. Oh well.

Crooked politicians endorsing other crooked ones running for office --ya those are good endorsements. These clowns must think a lot of voting public has amnesia about what they did when they were in office before. :S

Guess what Jumbie. The crooked politicians are right. The voting public in the islands and in the states regularly votes Against their best interest. Well meaning, but ignorant people cast their votes on a whim or the belief in a lie. Look at the states right now where the Republican party...yes the party of the rich looters, the party of 'kill the middle class'... is making a comeback because voters have forgotten that the mess we are in was caused by Republican policies.

I am old enough to have seen it repeated time and time again. Lies and attacks resonate ...the truth is ignored.

"Well meaning, but ignorant people cast their votes on a whim or the belief in a lie."
"yes the party of the rich looters, the party of 'kill the middle class'."

I find your rhetoric abhorrent and the logic is MIA...

Gosh, I'm sorry if I offended you. I do not intend to back off from my contention that 'good people..often..make bad decisions'.

Maybe I can say it better. First of all the Republican party (the party of my youth and my families history) has been taken over by the 'super rich'. In a very clever maneuver they have drawn in the 'fringe; true believers. They now have the anti-abortionist groups, the anti gay groups, the small government groups (libertarian), the racist groups (hate Obama). They also now have the right wing christian radicals and the Mormon church working for them. The TEA party groups are another upset and angry segment that they are now using.

I am not a Republican or a Democrat. I am terrified by the control that the VERY RICH have in America. Us poor folks are being used. I just wish that some of the anger and discontent in America was being directed to the right problems and people.

Finally, East Ender, I have long enjoyed your participation in this website. You care and give a lot of good advice. However, I think it is time that we stop worrying about party politics and start thinking about what is right and good for all of us.

Ah, yes, the party of the rich like George Soros. 😉

So Mapp has Turnbull and Schneider supporting him. And this is good?

Sir,
Air Force One is not a campaign jet, Arizona is not the enemy, Communist dictators are not people to admire, and America is not something to be ashamed of.

Respectfully fed up,
An American taxpayer and soldier

Mapp has Turnbull and Schneider supporting him???< I thought the SAME thing!
Another year, another Trillion???
This is INSANE!

It is a bunch of people that talk and talk and do nothing but spend money.

And there are FAR, FAR too many of them (and their friends).

Ah yes, East Ender, you are no doubt referring to George Soros, the "Shadow President of the USA". I am so happy to see that someone else thinks he is winning in his desire to rule the world! Hopefully, others will see the light and get rid of his puppets.

Stxer, just because someone hates Obama does not make them a racist! I hate the fact he seems to be a socialist and feels he needs to make apologies to everyone for America.

I would have voted for Colin Powell or Ms Rice in a heart beat!

I have to agree with STXer concerning what is happening to the GOP. We really need more than two parties, and the way the GOP is destroying itself is not comforting to me. Look at Christine O'Donnell, she is running to be a Delaware Senator, and this woman actually has stated that scientists have created mice with human brains - and she is a serious consideration for a high political office? It has come to the point where she won't do any more interviews, which I am sure her handlers finally realized that was the best course to take.

I'd like to put in a plug for the current governor. My interest is tourism and this administration has been very strong in that area. Beverly Nicholson-Doty has done as excellent job as Director of Tourism. Money has been available and carefully spent on a number of initiatives to help bring tourists to the USVI. I think DeJongh/Francis should be eleced for another term.

Linda, I think he is the best choice as well, but we can't let the government get any bigger.

Finally an honest political slogan! Chucky's signs are up all around the island featuring her big mug saying "I'm for Chucky!" I'm astonished that anyone come up with a sign like that, and worse, I can't believe no one has called her out on it.

according to callers into 2 local radio stations and confirmed by multiple observations the so called 'bash' thrown by chunky{sorry chucky hanson} turned the recreational center at canageta into a total pigsty. i know addressing this on this forum is most likely preaching to the choir but i really want to push this fact to as many people as possible. there were mutiple trash cans never used!! litter and broken glass evey where including inside the recreational facility which in my mind is a great community facility..parks and recreation were finally called in to clean up the mess ,at tax payers expense, after many public out cries for chunky"s [sorry again chucky hansons'campain com. to PLEASE come forward and clean up their mess. this says volumes to me about the lack of respect and concern this candidate and the people she surrounds herself with have for our island.great example to set for our youth also!!! if i were a candidate running for office and had enough finances left in my budget,i would have taken multiple picture of the disgraceful mess left by chunky and plastered them all over the island. i am encouraging every one to spread the word about the reflection this has on her character.
