Impossible to say. What works for me, STX, might be horrible for you. You should plan a to visit both islands.

Hey Linda J,
There are Four US Virgin Islands, not two.:-o The Majority of the Jobs available on the islands are in the service industries. Entertainment for young people, I would say STT. If you want to Island Hop STT would be the best. Close to STJ and Water Island. I Live on STX, It's a slower pace and more working class type people as compared to the other USVI, STX has Good Golf and a Small Casino. The Beaches are best on STJ, followed by STT and Than STX. STX has a Highway.(Helps clear the spider webs out of the Carb).

Sorry, but people are usually debating between STX and the STT/STJ/WI area. I do know how many islands there are.

The beaches are beautiful on stj, but then it's stx then stt. Stx has more land and a lot more beautiful beaches then stt. I agree with linda about the areas as well. The year round populations on stj and water are tiny. Most of the people that work on these islands commute from stt.

A lot more people live on Water Is. and commute to STT than STT workers commuting to Water Is.
I think there may be quite a few less visited and beautiful beaches on STT that you haven't seen until you circumnavigate by boat. STX certainly has more shoreline than any other Virgin Is...

The Original Post asked about each Island NOT AREA, I guess when you reference STT Area we should all think of STJ and Water Island. what was I thinking. Oh and Hiya have you ever been to STT and It's Beaches. Is the BVI part of the STT Area? Linda J your post does not offend me. However it's not accurate and again there are four US Virgin Islands not Two. *-)

Lizard you are such a grumpy old man, get out and have some fun and stop trying to pick fights with everyone as your only source of entertainment.

St. John - Beautiful but expensive

St. Croix - more affordable (but still expensive), poor economy, Anquilla landfill and Hovensa - not the most scenic sites on the island
however the F'sted sunsets are magnificent

St. Thomas - to many tourists, crime and dirty on the positve side - Magens Bay

It has been a while since I have been over to STX but am glad to hear there is no more crime and all the litter, tires, and other roadside trash has been cleaned up and everyone re-educated to keep to keep things that way.

I often see people throw things out their car window, including cigarette butts. I don't understand what the hell is wrong with people that in 2011, after all the campaigns and awareness people still litter! It's the thing I like least about STX.
