Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get a vendors license to sell photos and such down at the cruise dock, or even in town? Is this something they allow? Any info would be great.
Thanks john

Are you talking about St. Thomas?

You'd have to have a business license but more importantly have the permission of the Mall. To start, contact info is below but the mall is run by WICO & Linda Pinson can give you further info. There's also Crown Bay but they don't get as many ships.

The license would have to come from Licensing but the WICO contact information for Mr. Ed Thomas is at this site:

Just a thought...even if you get the license and get set up, etc., the cruise ships take pictures of passengers every time they embark and disembark. They may complain about competition. If they do, you will most likely be out.

I don't know . The cruise ship photos like everything else on board are expensive. LOL Hubby says expensive is relative

I'm not talking about fair competition. The cruise ships have clout.

And you get sick of having photos done on a cruise ship. Someone is there with a camera every time you turn around...

One can apply for, and get a business license but it takes a while. The other issue is finding venues. You will find that the obvious locations will not just let someone set up and sell. I would not count on it as a main source of income.

It is possible - jump through the hoops as you find them - give it a try - don't be deterred by criticism or naysaying - it could work - who knows until you do it.
