Good Morning,

I recently moved to St. Croix, and I find myself needing a new propane cylinder for my gas stove.

I called Antilles, who gave a $95 replacement cost. Does anyone know of any other company that delivers for a lower price? If it matters, I am in the Morningstar hill area.

Thanks for your help!

-Chris

That's about the going rate. I'm waiting on my gas delivery as we speak. If you're a senior you get a discount. Might save a dollar or 2 by using St. Croix Gas.

The price you were given is the standard current price for a full container. You don't replace the tanks - the gas company brings you a new tank every time you place an order. If you have a VI senior card the savings is very nice and you just give them the card number when you order for the first time and it's kept on record.

There is only two propane dealers on STX and you need to call the one that corresponds with the tank you already have. If your current tank is a blue top, call St. Croix Gas, if its a yellow top, Call Antilles Gas. They won't take each others tanks. You call ahead and leave a check taped to the tank in the amount you are told. You don;t need to be there for the delivery.

Other way around. Yellow is STX Gas, Blue is Antilles. We use Antilles for the $95 tank exchange. We use STX Gas for bulk delivery on the generator.
