My parents are retired and my wife and I have 5 kids. We have been toying with the idea of moving to a location like the islands. My concerns are job and place to live. I am in the construction field and my wife is in the sales field. Are their opportunity's at the islands for re location. Are is it a dream that can not be field.

(1) How old are your kids?
(2) Overlooking the "Are is", -- do you mean "fulfilled' where you typed "field"?

if your kids are still in school, most statesiders send theirs to private, it runs about 10k a year per child. just recently there was a big deal made about how many of the schools were accredited. shouldnt they all be accredited?

Dreams do come true and can be filled. In 4 mths. this will be my second opportunity with living in the Caribbean. Born and raised in Delaware. From 2006-2009 I lived in Antigua and Barbuda and in 4mths. I will be residing in St. Croix. The dream started from 9 yrs.old, I'm 46. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

speedy......no not all the schools are accredited, especially there in STX. 🙁
Any newcomer with kids need to seriously check out the school they will enrolling their child in.

Coming from a mother of two, I would strongly recommend one of the two main private schools here in STX. The public schools, unfortunately, appear to be sorely lacking due to finances. So, unless you wife is planning on home schooling here, be prepared to spend $11,000 per year per child for a private school education. For what it's worth, both my kids adore their school here!

Good luck,
Lisa
