My husband & I are relocating to St Thomas the first of November.
We finally got all of the Ike debri cleaned up at our place in texas; and are now ready to make the move.

We seem to be having problems finding someone in the Houston area that will ship (by air or water} our surfboards.
If anyone knows of someone that could us locate someone; we would greatly appreciated it.

We will also be looking for a short term place to stay while we relocate to the island. The place would have to be pet friendly;
we have 2 miniature dachshunds that are well behaved, house trained, and have baths every night.

We are also wondering if there was a cheaper place to rent a vechile, than at the airport?

Have you been here before? There is a little surfing on the north side but not much. Have you checked with the airlines? Check out the Classified section on this board by clicking on "Forum List" near the top of this page but do NOT rent anything sight unseen. Just a question - why do you bathe your dogs every night? Doesn't that dry their skin out?

Continental flys out of Houston and I think they connect to SJU. They might do it but for big $$$. Another option is to ship the boards and anything else you might want. It would need to go overland to Miami and then by boat. Tropical shipping can work with you.

But the real question is WHY do it? The surfing is not overly good on STT. The north side is about the only place that has any surfing.

As far as a place to stay when are you coming down? I have a studio in a private home on the east end. It might be too small.

PM me if interested.Otherwise good luck.

there is enough surfing - bring the boards - The Northside of STT and Tortola have nice waves - check - magicseaweed.com for Cane Garden Bay or www.ndbc.noaa.gov bouy 41043 for the swell report.
