For the place going in where Coco Blue was, I heard it was bought by one of the coco managers and they kept the chef so it will be similar if not some of the same foods.
I was at Lattes when ABC had a whole staff scrubbing the place down and it was looking much needed + positive for moving forward.
Hope for good things with them.

Revelry appeared open last night, but I didn't stop to look at the menu.

I've heard that Schooner Bay Market in Gallows Bay on STX will vacate the current premises (now running solely on a generator) and move up the road to the next plaza where Mt Welcome Pharmacy is located. Apparently they will scale back on the groceries and focus more gourmet food, wines and catering. Not sure if the sandwich bar will be part of the plan.

I've stopped buying and eating at Schooner Bay Market altogether. The fact that the generator does not run over night and therefore the food is not being cooled really concerns me. If they can get their act together at a new location with 24 hour electricity, I'll give them another try.

I gave up on Schooner, the shleves are bare, the meat selection is way down.. Now if they do move and keep the meat counter I'll give it another shot

Me,too, Dixiechick! I hope they keep a salad bar. We stop in several times when on the island for salads. We were there this past May for 5 wks and ate from there~~~ I'm glad I didn't know they weren't refrigerating for hours.:-o Everything tasted good but I was shocked at their lack of stock on the shelves (like everyone has been commenting on). I like the check out lady and hope to see her in their next location 🙂

Why isn't the Health Dept. (Licensing Bureau) alerted about the refrigeration
Issue and investigating??? Can you imagine this going on in the States and being ignored!!!?

I saw the Revelry menu and want to thank them for naming an item "East Ender." Guess I'll have to go try it!

I'm told that Schooner Bay Market has abandoned the relocation and will now close its doors on Saturday. Its probably just as well. There wasn't much left to buy in there but a few kitchen gadgets anyway. I hope that staff get their final paychecks. Farewell to my favorite sandwiches. But here's hoping someone will seize the opportunity and open a sandwich shop nearby.

I stopped by on Saturday evening and the sign said: Schooner Bay Market has closed forever. On a more positive note, I've heard that others want to take over the whole building and put a much bigger grocery store in its place. Time will tell.

The lot won't stay vacant long I'm sure. The location is awesome. Someone will snap it up quickly I'll bet.

Perhaps someone with more knowledge on how to run a grocery store than the last group?

I never understood why they wouldn't just re-stock the shelves. THAT is why they lost all their business and couldn't pay their WAPA bill. I realize they may not have had the money to buy stock, but I can't imagine not taking out a loan or something….or not having enough reserves to start with. When they threw out all the expired food from the shelves they just left everything empty. 🙁

I always shopped there because it was much closer to our house, but eventually I made the drive over to Food Town instead because Schooner Bay never had anything...

There is a lot more to the Schooner Bay story than just stocking shelves. As I understand it quite a while back they quit making payments to the old owner for no good reason. There is talk that the old owner may take it back, which would be welcome. All in all I have been really unimpressed by the family that botched first the old Gannets, then Gallows Bay Hardware (both locations, for those of you who may not remember back that far), then the new Gannets, and finally our beloved Schooner Bay Market.

Its hard to imagine how many hundreds of thousands Phil, Mary and Stephanie (and husband Wallace Phair) must have pissed away on the Gannet re-launch and Schooner Bay Market debacle. And Cynthia Tyler has no desire to get back into the grocery business either. From what I've heard, one of the Arab or Palestinian grocery mafia will take over the lease and do it properly. At least they know how to run a store.
