I was deeply saddened to hear about the Friday murder of Jake Bierowski, son of Betsy Campen.
Jake was a peaceful, easy going guy and although we weren't close friends, we knew each other well.
My deepest condolences go out to Betsy Campen, one of our our premier artists who I have known for some years.
I'm not aware of the circumstances of Jake's murder, but St. Croix is becoming more dangerous and scary with each passing week.
Rest in peace Jake. You were a good person.

Very Sad indeed. A very nice guy taken from this world way too soon.
RIP Jake.
Let's hope the investigation into his murder will be as vigorous and successful as the one to apprehend the guys who shot the Police Chief and the other officer was.

All thoughts and prayers are with Betsy.
A tragedy for; let's hope they solve this as well as Ecliff James who was murdered at Club 54 the same night as Eat was robbed.
If the lazy money grubbing Senators decide to show up and vote Monday, perhaps the Feds will be allowed to carry guns in the VI, like the robbers and murderer's can, so we can start to clean up St Croix.

Its doubtful that our cowardly senators will step up and support the bill.
They seem to like the crime situation just the way it is.
I suppose one of their family members needs to be snuffed out before it matters to them.

omg so sad knew him through the shop. poor betsy. a friend of mine was trying to call him yesterday. she said kept going straight to voice mail. any details?
and middle of the day too. yes it has to stop. home invasion is scary.

This news is devasatating and my heart aches for Jake's family and friends. Jake was a beautiful young man who I came to know over the years and I will be forever grateful to the joy and laughter he brought to my family. I am blessed to have many, many beautiful memories of Jake and his acts of kindess.
Jake was indeed a kind soul. May he rest in peace and may those he left far too soon be graced with his presence in their hearts.

Betsy my heart goes out to you darling. Jake was a loving wonderful young man. Your only consolation may be that he is with his father now. St. Croix is your home. Your family has been an asset for decades. He will be missed. This is just too unbelievable.
