We're looking to move on STX from Louisiana. We have have 2 boys ages 8 & 4. What are the best schools on STX?

Thanks!

That depends on if you want private ($12000 per year per child) or public. The best private is Good Hope Country Day School. The best public is either Pearl B. Larson or Ricardo Richards Elementary. This info comes based on the info I've received in my research while applying to become an Elementary public school teacher and from friends I've made who live on STX. And for what it's worth I've been told by some of my friends who's children go to Good Hope, that even though they really like the school, if they were to do it over again they would have put their kids in either of the 2 public schools I mentioned. We are in the process of moving and plan on putting our kids (10 & 7) in the public schools.

I wonder why Pearl B. Larson is seen as the "good" public school. As a local, this fascinates me. 😀

I agree that the public schools are the way to go! I recommend Arthur A. Richards and the STX Central High ...lol

We are about to put down a deposit on The Stone House for our 3 and 4 year old girls. It sounds like an amazing program and the woman who runs it is lovely!

There are choices if you want to go to a religious school. Not as expensive as you might think.
