I left stx 3 years ago but did work at Schooner Bay while I was there.

I understand the new market is really nice!

Would love to hear comments and/or see pictures!

Although I rarely shop there for groceries because I find it very expensive, I do love the sandwiches and burgers from the deli. The owner runs a tight ship and I'm glad they took over the store.

it is a very nice and clean store. the produce section is usually well stocked and fresh. some prices are higher, but not bad.

just found out ( thank you vicanuk ) that they have burgers. their subs are awesome. they sell pizza, quiche and they have pre cooked chickens. they have a bakery. they have wine tastings . they have a nice cheese section.

I love it. It's a huge improvement over what was there. Great selection, the produce is usually really nice, it's clean and tidy, and I don't find the prices to be that much higher. And they have great homemade soups every day (the spicy conch chowder is excellent).

The meat counter has Black Angus steaks, which are as good as Prime. They are a few dollars more, but worth the price. Overall, a fantastic market which adds to our quality of life on STX.

For $12 it better be a huge and terrific tasting sandwich.

I'd go for trying the spicy conch chowder in a heartbeat!
Too bad it's 40 miles away!
