I am desperately in need of a studio/1bdrm. on St. Croix. I do have some credit issues, so I am trying to go with a private owner. Please help, I relocate in 4 mths.

People will generally rent to you here with 1st, last and one month's security. By the time you miss a month they will know you are a roach! No credit checks unless you are looking at something fancy and renting from a Realtor.

But remember, first, last, and one months security can add up fast. Even at $700 per month, that's $2,100 up front. Come and bring lots of $$$.
