This is my first NFL season in STX and I am looking for fellow NY Giants fans to watch the G-men games with. My condo complex does not permit satellite dishes so I can't get the game on my own but I am good for snacks, beers, and incising commentary and Cowboys-bashing. Losing Osi was a tough break though I still know we will reign vicotrious once again this season. Feel free to PM me. Thanks. Go GIants.

Norman -

There are some of us New England Patriots fans on STX that are still moving through the five classic stages of Grief:

Denial:
"There's absolutely no bleepin' way David Tyree caught that pass...no bleepityboppityblanking way!"

Anger:
Repeat "Denial" at much, much louder volume.

Bargaining:
"OK. Plaxico Burress just torched poor little Ellis Hobbs in the end zone.

I'll just shut off the TV with a half-minute left in the game.

If I sit in the dark and don't read the newspapers or turn the TV back on or go online, MAYBE the Patriots were able to stage another miracle comeback.

Just sit here in the dark - nice and quiet-like.

Just....sit...here..in..the.dark."

Depression
It's not good to sit in the dark that long.

Acceptance
When in doubt, following Bill's Words: "It is what it is."

We should be OK for the upcoming game. There will be some PTSD twitches and tremors, but overall, OK.

LOL. That was a hilarious and well-described sequence of emotions Jim. I wish I could empathize with you but it felt so good seeing Baby's Daddy Brady getting pummeled throughout the Super Bowl. The Pats had more than their fair-share of glorious moments, its about time they came back down to earth.

LOL, sounds like we have a lot in common, except I'm a Redskin's fan 🙂 Should be a good opening game..I'll likely be at Sharkey's for it on the 4th!

Is Sharkey's a good place to watch NFL games? Do they show all of the games or just the games the bartenders choose to show? What's the crowd like over there?

Well this lifetime Patriots fan is going to be suffering a bit with my first season here on the island. I do have an active DirecTV subscription back at my Seattle residence so I'm hoping the Superfan PC access to lives games works well enough with my Broadband VI connection. If it does I may have to figure out how to get the signal from the PC to the TV and then I'll invite some Pats fans over for some games.

Duggan's Reef Teaque Bay has the New England Games also known as home of the losers (Superbowel) that is. Giants Fans are at the Golden Rail when Phil or Steelers don't conflict.

Inside the fenced area of the ST Croix Marina Gallows Bay just east of the town of Christiansted. Foods good, the owner is from PA.

Didn't the Ravens, you know the team without a QB again, recently beat the Patriots? I know it was pre-season but I think I recall a pretty interesting game last season 😉

Sharkey's has a ton of TV's and has the Sunday ticket so I've never not been able to get a skins game there. I like Sharkey's, the crowd can be racaus which makes it more fun, the food is decent and cheap, the beer is cold etc. Been watching games there for a few years.

Sharky's often has multiple games on since they have a bunch of tv's. The main big screen selection isn't always what you are hoping to see. That one may be selected by the bartender of the day.

Brew Pub also has multiple tv's and may have 2 games playing at once. You may not get volume for the one you want to see. A big tip to the bartender might change your experience. lol. Mikey leaves on the 14th to visit the mainland for a while, so you'll have to make do with back-up bartenders until he gets back. It was fun meeting his baby brother this summer. He was down on college summer break and really living large on his brother's reputation and thought this was the most amazing place to spend summer break.

Golden Rail has the best Lobster Bisque on STX. Give it a try. Not a bad price, either, and it is a great lunch option. Yes, the breakfasts are good. Sometimes they have live music that's kind of fun, too. Not much in location/ambience otherwise, but take someone you enjoy spending time with and the ambience shouldn't matter. Good food and sometimes good music..

I haven't caught up to this weeks game but I'm pretty sure the Pats have lost all of their preseason games. It doesn't mean anything of course as they are trying out new players (Brady hasn't played at all - initially due to injury.)

That said I do think the Pats will lose some games this year but have another successful year and if they can stay healthy they'll go to at least the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Didn't the Ravens, you know the team without a QB again, recently beat the Patriots? I know it was pre-season but I think I recall a pretty interesting game last season 😉

GTG, you are correct Pats went 0-4 in preseason. But as you mentioned, preseason is mostly BS, especially in the Pats' case since Brady AND Moss did not participate. However, one sobering observation for Pats fans should be the fact that other teams are emulating the Giants' strategy in putting heavy pressure on the Pats' O-Line and as a result their QBs are not having as much time as they used to. In light of Pats' opponents' new found strategy I don't think the Pats will be able to sustain such high win percentages in the upcoming and future seasons. Although Brady is still one of the top 2 QBs in the NFL, New York Giants Super Bowl Champions proved that Tom "Please Don't Touch my Face" Brady is human and that if he was limited to as much time in the pocket as other NFL QBs he too is a mere mortal.

Go Big Blue.
