Hi everyone,
We are trying to find someone to ship our 20ft container and our cars. Have tried to reach Lee at managed freight for 2 weeks with no reply. We also called Bob Lynch on the advice of a real estate agent and they gave us a number of someone to use in the states who then gave us another number and they gave us another number and so on. We could really use some advice. We will be arriving on the island November 22 and really need to make arrangements. Thanks
Tammy Nicoll

If you get in touch with Lee Fleming, please tell him to answer my emails...our stuff has been en route from STX to the mainland for 34 days with no word other than it landed in Florida...it's been a very frustrating time for us as well.

If it's any help at all, Lee uses Crowley sometimes for the actual freighting. Maybe it would be quicker to cut to the chase and go to them. www.crowley.com Apparently they are adding a third ship to go to STT on a fixed schedule...this is from their website.

---------------

Crowley News
New U.S. - Virgin Island and Eastern Caribbean Peak-Season Service to Become Fixed-Day Weekly with Cargo Availability Saturday Mornings in St. Thomas

(JACKSONVILLE, Fla.; October 12, 2006) To meet the needs of customers shipping to the Virgin Islands and Eastern Caribbean during the peak holiday season, Crowley Maritime Corporation's liner services group will deploy a third container ship, the Jade, to sail on a weekly, fixed-day schedule between Port Everglades and St. Thomas effective October 17. The Jade will replace the ship Pine Valley, which had been placed into the service last month on an eight-day rotation. In addition to Crowley's regular Tuesday sailing out of Jacksonville and Thursday sailing out of Port Everglades with the Sea Gale and Sea Cloud, the Jade will depart Port Everglades on Tuesdays and arrive in St. Thomas on Fridays. This will give customers cargo availability Saturday morning and will also allow an earlier arrival to the company's connecting feeder islands services.

I have posted before that I like Lee F. , but he is NOT good at communicating...my suggestion if you want answers to where your container is to call Crowley direct and ask for Shelrinda. She was very helpful at finding out where our container was and why it was taking so long. We waited for 2 1/2 months for our container due to lack of communication from Lee from the beginning, customs wanting to take out everything for a "random" check, and the cars having to be "steam cleaned" because there was some dirt on the car. (We washed our vehicles before loading them). This cost was extra on our end for the whole process, which ended up being $700 more. Plus, we had nothing for almost 3 months so we borrowed from friends and family to get by. Good luck.

Hi Tammy,

The Viking Corporation on STT is excellent. I used them for my move from the states earlier this year.

Viking has been doing business around here for over two decades. They are well-established and really seem to know what they are doing.

I would suggest giving them a call to see if they can help you out 340.776.1536.

Good luck :)!

Thanks Mell,
I will continue to call around. Someone from Lees office did call me back last week to get some info, but then never called again. Becky I'm sorry your container seems to be missing in action. Things seem to be coming together concerning shipping the dogs. Now we just have to get the rest of our stuff there. Thank you everyone for your advice.
Tammy

kellymac-

Thanks for a name to contact with Crowley - I will pass it on to my attorney....and it sounds as if you were the victim of some sort of weird something (I hate to use the word "scam") with regarding to cleaning your car, etc.

Tammy, good luck with moving the dogs - if I can help you in any way, please let me know!

Hi Tammy,

Great!

Yes, they are a very professional and first-rate operation IMHO.

Hopefully this means that your move is once again progressing along. Good luck with everything, and if you have any other questions, you know where to find us :)!

Best,
Mell
