Hello all,

I'll find out next week if I will be offered the position at M.R. golf course, so the excitement is about ready to kill the both of us. We have viewed the pages regarding shipping and are just trying to get a REAL idea of what the cost of shipping a car (Pontiac Grand Am and possibly a Dodge Ram truck) to STT. I would guess we could take the vehicles to Charleston, SC for shipping or is the best thing to do to take them to Florida??

Also, any info on moving household goods would be appreciated. We tried to pull up the Managed Freight site but it states it is under construction.

Thanks for the assistance and hope to be joining everyone soon

Here's a little tip .....metal will rust very quickly. Of course, we all know that, but when you're bringing down items you already own,you don't always think in those terms. I had some very pricey bathroom accessories that were metal,3 months later, much to my dismay, rusted! Ceramic & plastic are your friends!

Southeast,

Thx for the tip, we have already got our items down to the bare bones as far as we can tell. Have had several contacts with Door to Door Moving regarding our situation for overall costs. Of course, we are both nervous and scared somewhat for such a big move. Our move from KY to SC seems like a walk in the park compared to this. We have viewed both the daily news and Island trader for accomodations. How fast do dwellings disappear from the classifieds?? We will be able to spend some time in a Corp. residence but not forever.

Thanks again for all the help!!!

If you call Crowley or Tropical they can tell you exactly what it would cost to ship your vehicle. You will just need to have the date you want to ship and the basic information about your vehicle. I shipped over my 4x4 Jeep Cherokee in November. It cost about $2000 with shipping, taxes and fees. I used Crowley out of Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades). They are located very close to the airport in Ft. Lauderdale and Spirit offers good prices on flights to STT.
