Seems like authority has run A-Muck at DPNR .... right when they want to increase mooring fees.

From the article:

"...a report from one boater of the Planning officer trying to silence him by making a motion as if he was working a television remote..." Why was this not captured on video and posted to youtube?

Well, that ought to make the DPNR meeting tonight even more interesting.
Looks like some re-training in is order for those officers who were in attendance in Coral Bay.
Bullying the public is never good.

700% is a gigantic rate increase by any standards.
All because our Government needs more money to misspend, mismanage, misuse, misapprpriate, waste and steal.
Instead of making things more user friendly to the yachting public who already spend lots of $$ here in the USVI and get no services in return, we shall continue to drive them into the more "user friendly" waters of the BVI.
This was done in the late 70's and 80's and we have never recovered.

Our VI Government took a once heathy and thriving Charter Yacht Industry and completely destroyed it and drove all the yachts into the waiting arms of the BVI's coffers.

Seriously, how many more tax increases can the public and private sectors endure?
Is it any wonder, people must close their doors and shut their businesses down.

Classic case of 3 sides to a story. Us, them, and the truth! Who knows. Too bad no videos.

it is interesting to think that a 700% increase will help the government when most likely it will drive most boaters and their disposable income into the arms of other more friendly islands and leave our government without. it has already caused some boaters to take their boats elsewhere.
Way to go intelligent thinking government
