NOAA is predicting that this storm will be further south than originally thought. Looks like we might be in for some weather early next week.

How possible is it for the storm to land here?

Shutters just went up at Royal Dane. Don't like it at all, too close for comfort.

Earl is definitely one to keep an eye on.

The early tracking models showed Earl recurving out into the open Atlantic following in Danielle's wake, although making it a bit further west before starting his turn. He's still forecast to recurve but the track keeps getting nudged south and west. Hurricane Danielle is clearing out faster than expected and that is allowing a subtropical ridge to build in behind her. The net effect is that Earl will track further west before making his turn to the north. That may steer him in our general direction. Let's hope not. The intensity forecasts show that Earl may be a very powerful hurricane as he approaches the islands.

The government of France has issued a tropical storm watch for St Martin and St Bartholemy.

Fiona is forming on Earl's heels. The Cape Verde wave train is in full swing.

There's one projection that has it hitting STT dead on. Hope it speeds up, blows north and we all just get some rain!

Bob, just checked your link and noticed they changed the "cone of uncertainty" slightly south to include StX.
Last time I checked we were clear. I still hope it spins north!

NOAA update the predictions at 11, 2, 5 & 8 both am and pm, every 3 hours.

I've got a bad feeling about this one.

Convection is now over the center of circulation. Shear is dropping. Recon just found a central pressure of 983.3 mb. He'll start strengthening now.

Cheryl, I think it's because the Avis kept saying there was nothing to worry about! 🙂 People that didn't have access to the internet might not be preparing as much.

I usually go with Dr. Masters on weather underground... he predicted Earl becoming a cat 1, then 2 as it was passing over us way back when NOAA was still saying it was going to go way North... now he is saying that Invest 97 will become Fiona and pass the same way. Just be prepared everyone, better safe than sorry.

Can't say I'm very happy to be celebrating my first year on the island with the likes of Earl and Fiona as houseguests. :{ Soon GO?

Wunderground upgraded Earl to an official hurricane recently. Also looks like it's starting to turn more to the North. Hope so...

Looks like it's going to have to veer left to hit STX with hurricane force winds. STT and BVI a little more likely but not a given.

Current STX Monday afternoon thru Tuesday prediction is more like Tropical Storm winds....local heavy rains with winds up to 35 mph.

Looks like a repeat of that July storm we had. Hope Broadbandvi has all their lightning arrestors and cooper cable in place this time.

Stormpulse is also showing it will go north of now, we're not even in the cone anymore.
