Sorry Capt Kangaroo is dead.
so is alan king
Buffalo Bob is dead too but I bet Princess Summerfallwinterspring is still alive & kicking.
I was just talking to Flu-A-Dub yesterday he's still ready to eat spaghetti. Oh and Capt kanagroo use to be clarabell the clown so I guess he's double dead.
Sorry about Alan King!
Hop A Long Cassidy, Gene Autry, Sky King (and Penny, I'm sure), Roy and Dale, Tarzan, Ramar of the Jungle, Pat Brady and Nelly Belle,,,,,,
We have a man from my area of Texas who played a clown for years. Jingles the Clown. Over 50 years of being Jingles and volunteering at hospitals for children etc. Anyway McDonalds used to fly him out to LA to play Ronald back in the 70s-80's and he was in several national McD's commercials. Our local news showed some of the commercials and I was surprised that I remembered them from my youth! So I guess we lost one of the Ronalds we all grew up with. Or at least those of us who watched tv in the 70's and 80's. (Ronald McDonald always creeped me out for some reason-- I have Kramer's clown problem)
I was just kidding earlier about Mr. Greenjeans and Bunnyrabbit being dead. They were on the Captain Kangaroo show. Actually Mr Greenjeans IS dead, but since Bunnyrabbit was a puppet, I guess he's in a drawer somewhere...
I actually knew Johnny Weisemuller. Spelled wrong I am sure. We lived in Titusville, Florida by Fox Lake. He was aging then but loved to give swimming lessons and candy to the children. How about I love lassie. Great show and Roy and Dale, " High o silver away". Did I say that right? Gunsmoke with Miss Kitty. I was a child so I don't know if my memory is correct. What was the show, I think it was called branded. A man who was military but at the beginning his sword was broken in half. Davy Crockett and his wife Rebecca.
Edited to say that Johnny Weisemuller, again probably spelled wrong was the original Tarzan.
Doug...
I Love Lucy and Lassie were two differet shows.
Roy (Rogers) and Dale (Evans) were in the Roy Rogers Show. (My favorite Saturday morning show) Roy's horse was Trigger and his horse was Bullet. I think his sidekick was Gabby.
"Hi Ho Silver and away!" was the Lone Ranger.
I saw them all when they were new. Ouch!
I did too & had a Hopalong Cassidy lunchbox. Wish I still had it. Anybody remember that Dale Evans' horse was named Buttermilk? In my wild youth I dated Ryker on the Virginian (Clu Gulagher) until I found out he was married.
Trade,
You little Devil You!
I sure was, Lizard. You have NO idea...
Oh, and if you remember Buffalo Springfield, I dated the drummer, Dewey who was the only one NOT to remain famous.
:@)
I think Dale Evans horse's name was Buttercup.
I don't think Sky King is dead, I remember hearing within the last couple of months that he was put in a nursing home.
Remember Gardner McKay from Adventures in Paradise? What about Lloyd Bridges from Sea Hunt? Who was the kid from Circus Boy? Noah Berry Jr was in that as well.
I think circus Boy was the Drummer in the monkey's.
I think you are right, Mickey Dolenz (sp?)
