Dove today - surface looked like caca but seriously one of the best dives ever. Not clarity wise but the wildlife was off the chain!!!

Right now, until I don't know when - there are HUNDREDS of giant cushion stars about 6-7 pillars out. They are bigger than your face. Orange, red, yellows. I've seen them in STT and STJ before but never in this quantity. It's really amazing! Get out and dive if you can. Camera died after only a few shots of a golden spotted eel (only my third sighting ever) but I'll get a couple pics tomorrow of them. Really cool.

Wow that sounds awesome!! I never heard of such a thing. There are some starfish out by coakley bay beach also, but I would say dozens not hundreds. Tho there might definitely be some kind of migration season.

That may be part of the cause for sea urchins washing up on the beach. Sea urchins are a favorite food of star fish.
