My husband and his nephew are interested in starting a paint contracting business on STT. Nephew has a successful painting business in Tampa, FL, and would like to branch out down here. Better to start a new VI company or just have a branch of his FL biz??

Also, any contacts with General contractors would be appreciated. Spoke with someone at Kraus-Manning....any others they should approach about putting in bids for jobs?

Would appreciate any other advice on the matter as well. Thanks!

Linda

You might want to call some of the other paiting contractors to see ow thie biz is going...I think there is plenty of competition for these bids now, as I know 2 different guys that own painting businesses, and they are always saying how tuff it is, due to the amount of competition....one more would just make it that much worse....for everyone. Try calling Brad's Painting Service at 340-776-0862 and ask his opinion...he's a very straight up kind of fellow....or you could try CF Rosenberg Painting Contractors at 340-775-7007.....ask for the GM...

I saw one of the contractors a few days ago and I think he told me there were 5. Not enough work for them right now.
