So what's the difference between the KMart site, the store, and the app? There's a dress we had on STT that wasn't in my size and couldn't find it online in the color I saw in the store.

CRAP - sorry I meant TARGET. My bad. lol.

I just got my first order from Zappos. Some nice high end sandals. Free shipping and FREE returns. Fast too - 3 days! I ordered 3 pairs and am keeping two. Kinda like this actually. No one here had good sandals - Vionics, Sanuk and OluKai (each was under $65 too!) OluKai are usually in the $100 range here... or at least in STT where I could find them.

Zappo's is expensive, imo. I have always been able to find the same shoes cheaper even with shipping included.

Zappo's is expensive, imo. I have always been able to find the same shoes cheaper even with shipping included.

Where? And free returns too? Im super interested.

My Olukai were $60. In STT at the surf shops they were $100 and over. Even on amazon (that doesn't have free shipping) they were $70.

For cheapies I will go to Kmart but I needed some that I can walk in for 8 hours.

Thanks for posting your list, piaa.
Bealls always has sales going on, daily.
I shop there when in FL and order occasionally.
Free shipping thru FedX to your physical address, no P.O.BOX.
I've bought some very nice comfortable sandals from them.
I like the Columbia brand.

Not free returns. I google the shoe and often find them somewhere on sale for less than Zappo's. Big Planet on St John used to have an annual sale and I would go over to buy shoes. Whenever I googled I couldn't find them cheaper than at Big Planet. I bought Reef sandals there but you can also get those at Caribbean Surf.

The boutique at Barefoot Buddha had a killer sale a few months ago, and I got some fantastic high heel sandals for about $20. Forgot the brand, but will post when I get home. I think the original price both here and online was $80.

One of my friends deposited money in her "account" with me for me to buy things I see at a really good price. I'm a professional shopper. 🙂

Oh yea I need hard working sandals. For hours of walking on vacation because I HATE tennis shoes and for water usage. Its HARD to find GOOD long lasting sandals when you're super active. I've found only Olukai, Sanuk and I am trying these new Vionics out. Reef works too but not as comfortable as the rest. I don't wear stuff like that above lol. Not my ting and I would fall over. I am all about function over looks and I really need shoes that can handle having salt water in them without falling apart. Have one pair of high heel wedges that go with everything - knock the mold off them once a year or so.

I love BB clothes too but they're pretty pricey as well. Not as bad as the boutique places here in STX but not exactly "affordable" either.

For hard working I like Teva, but when I went to buy a pair at Nordstrom in PR it wasn't the same quality as the pair I bought on ebay though they looked just alike. Somebody confirmed that for some reason there are 2 versions - the good one and the average one so I have to wait until I go to States to purchase or try ebay again.

I also like Keens and used to be able to get them locally at same price or less than online. The stores here either closed or now have very limited selection so I haven't bought a new pair in a few years though I need new ones.

KMart had a Teva look alike on sale a few months back so I bought all I could get (3 pairs) to hold me until I can get somewhere to buy better quality.

Ha, ha! I don't usually buy heels, either, but I was in the mood for something different, they fit, are actually comfortable, and at $20, I'll take them.

I also like Rockport, and found a pair on ebay I am going to purchase.

BB Boutique has great sales, but their regular prices are very competitive. I've never paid more than $30 for any dress I bought there. If the price is right, I usually buy it even if I'm not crazy about it. Somebody will usually compliment me on an item even though it may be one I'm not crazy about.

Switch flops (see link)

http://www.lindsay-phillips.com/

are my default dressy shoe. Bought them at Fresh Produce in Charlotte Amalie. I buy straps when they're on sale. Went on a cruise and straps were on sale for like $3 so I bought all they had in my size. Flip flops don't stay on my feet well so I can only wear these when there is minimal walking.

Price has increased since I bought mine, but having flexibility without taking up valuable packing space has considerable value.

I also am a big fan of Vionic. They are super comfortable for my crappy feet. You may also like Mephisto. They are expensive, but the pairs I've invested in lasted longer than my Vionics.

6pm.com is affiliated with Zappos I'm pretty sure. And they are cheaper. The site is massive, so before you dive in, I recommend you narrow things by your size. I've been disappointed more than once by forgetting to do that first.

Lots of Vionics on ebay and saw a few I like. Guess I'll be shopping ebay today! Thanks for the Vionics mention. I don't need shoes with arch support but will give them a try at reduced price.

Im not sold on the Vionics just yet. They're not very cushy. I can feel the arch support and my friend swears by them - its my first pair. I am waiting for the others to come in so I can try them all out together. We are going to be walking for 6-7 hours a day and I am refusing to wear tennis shoes. I just HATE them!

I am spoiled with Sanuk's which are made from yoga mats and literally feel like walking on a cushion. Pretty affordable too with more stylish options than Vionics and Olukai.
MS411 I suggest you try those if you don't need arch support. They don't do well with water at all though! They absorb it and start making these soapy suds when you walk. Its really weird lol. Not a big deal if you're not putting them on right after the water or if you let them dry out between wet wearing. When I did tours I loved them, so comfy but they were perpetually wet and soapy. They are the most comfortable sandal I've ever worn... no real support like the orthotics though. I had Olukai when I lived in Hawaii. They were really nice but too expensive here I think Caribbean Surf had some for $120. I am interested to try them against the Vionics.

I am a big Sanuk fan. They are the most comfortable flip flop that I have ever owned. I think I have four pairs currently in my closet. However, for my use in or near the water, believe it or not, I have found Crocs Flip Flops (Athens) to be my "go to". They are perfect on the boat. I wear them in the water on the ramp putting the boat in and out. They dry quickly. They never absorb any water and they do not smell no matter what. I simply hose them off while washing the boat and they are good to go. I had a pair that lasted me almost five seasons on the Chesapeake. They finally gave up right on the dinghy dock in Coral Bay last year. I ordered a new pair as soon as I got back to the states.

What stores on St Thomas carry Sanuks? I know flip flip shop used to. Wonder if they're still open? I saw one pair on their website that I'd like to try.

Well this is interesting. I needed to order a few things from Walmart and figured I'd take advantage of the free shipping and add a few staples to the order that are half the cost of buying on island. I didn't expect all of it to ship together but figured they would group the staples together to minimize the shipping cost. Not so much. Bag of coffee, box of tea bags, box of cereal arrives 6/14. 1 bag of Tostitos arrives 6/24. 1 bag of Lays chips arrives 6/30. We'll see how this works out.

scubadoo, i tried ordering potato chips once from them. they grouped them with 2 cans of hash and a cast iron pan. i emailed them about this situation, this time they put the chips in with just the 2 cans of hash.

both times chips smashed to smithereens. they even assured me their packing department knew how to pack. just be aware.

but one time i ordered pretzel sticks and no problem.

Well if the really ship each bag of chips by itself as it appears is planned there shouldn't be much trouble if the USPS plays nice.
