I agree. They think that once they bring a bill the job is done. I think that they hope you will give up and pay cash.

Of course, a boat horn would garner the most immediate attention but other patrons might have a heart attack.

I was recently at Breezes. I was quite disappointed with the service.

1) I had to wait a while to be seated.
2) The first thing the greeter says, "I have to check and find out if the kitchen is closed..." (We arrived at 8:40pm). I thought a "good evening" would be the first thing to come out of her mouth. If the kitchen is closed, they should remove the "Wait to be seated" sign and flip it to say "Restaurant is closed". At least, we should be properly greeted and say something on the line of "I am sorry, but the kitchen is closed...".
3) They decided to let us in and then seated us inside even when there were plenty of empty tables outside. The outside is normally the preferred area as you are away from the bar. I had to ask to be seated outside.
4) After a little while, the server came over to take the order. I had to remind her we had no silverware and napkins.
5) The "complimentary" bread arrived burnt on the bottom.
The wine was served nice and chilled, thank you.
6) After a long while, over 10 minutes, the appetizers arrived. The stuffed crab mushrooms, which I normally request with extra cheese, had it on two out of the four, the rest was on the plate.
7) I had to remind the server, we needed plates for the appetizers....
8) After, yet again, over 10 minutes the salads arrived. Though cold, again, the preparation was uneven. Mine only had one half of the sliced tomato. My companion had LESS tomato than I did...
9) After another 20 minutes the entree arrived. We ordered the ribs from the specials of the day. I thought it was the least we could do since the kitchen was closing. The problem again, uneven preparation. Mine had a lot of sauce. My companion's were almost dry. The ribs were just warm and the rice on both was cold.
10) I had to remind the server to bring us more wine...
11) The wine took forever to arrive and we were told: "The bartender thought he was done for the night". I bit my tongue and said nothing.
12) We finished, but had to wait a while for the server to notice us. She was busy having a drink at the bar, yes, prepared by the bartender that I was told was done for the night...
13) The tab was brought over, the server told she was new as a waitress. Hmmm? Oookey...
I paid and had to take the ticket over to the bar... Well, so much for that.

That was not like Breezes to give sub-par service. A new server, a closed kitchen, and a bartender done for the night are not excuses. If you can't give good food and service, just tell the customer the restaurant is closed. End of story. There is always Angry Nate's...
I will call the manager, Chris (if I am not mistaken and who turns out was the done-for-the-night-bartender) and tell him my experience. I do NOT want to speak to the owner as he is very rude and has a sense of entitlement that is bigger than his ego.

I will dismiss this as a bad night and it will not stop me from going to Breezes again. But, if there is a repeat of this mess, well, I don't know. I do like to give chances, but no more than two.

Yes, I did leave a tip... A good one, I always do... My lady thought I was crazy, perhaps she is right...

At least the wine was nice and chilled...

East End Pizza.

Two thumbs, two arms, and two toes up! Good food good service even when it was super crowded.

P.S. The cook took three orders way past closing time for the kitchen. He even greeted a couple that was standing there and took the order directly from them. He told them nicely the kitchen was closed (it was way past 9:30pm) and his only request was for them to order as quickly as possible. The couple, tourists staying at the Divi, were super thankful... Way to go East End!

I'm not a fan of Breezez due to very similar experiences.

I love East End Pizza!

Breezes - 99% of the time the slowest service on the island. Kitchen even slower. Stopped going there for those reasons.

You can great fried chicken at Plaza West or that chicken shack place by 5 Corners or plenty of other local places around the island. Why give your money to KFC when there are better options?

I get the fried chicken at Plaza West a lot for lunch. Great deals too, waayyyy less than KFC.

You can buy chicken breasts at all the supermarkets and make your own fried chicken.

Cowboy4ever, I stopped going to KFC because they don't usually have white meat. Sometimes they might have the chicken fingers which are okay.

If I want good fried chicken I go to Plaza West. Most of time they do have chicken breast.
I do love Chicken shack chicken also, it's not fried.

I guess KFC only carries what sells for them. They don't worry about a few of us that like white meat. LOL!

our KFC experience on stx has been a bit different...We have been told that there were no white meat breasts, but as we stood in the back to decide what to order instead, two obviously more local guys came in and ordered/received the breasts that did not exist for us.
A second time we went in and just ordered the 8 piece chicken, to go...lo and behold our chicken had 6 backs.

Not on STX.....not this week, or last week, or the week before, etc. We seem to have a chicken shortage. One of the clerks at Food Town told my husband, a couple of days ago, it would be another 2 weeks before they had anything other than legs and wings. They did have a few whole chickens.

I've been checking Plaza every few days for the antibiotic/hormone free breasts. They finally had them today! 🙂

That's so weird when we don't have a chicken breast shortage like that, that I've noticed on STT. Everytime I go to buy some, whether Pueblo (not ususally but when I shop there I price them) CUL, Pricesmart, they always have lots of them. How odd that STX has a chicken breast drought! Guess, they must be off menus in restaurants there too, then?
Is there a chicken breast hoarder on STX?

Found a niche business for Peachey.........chicken breast distributor!;)

Speaking of chicken..........I'm sure there are many people that would happily pay to remove wild roaming chickens and roosters from their neighborhoods.
Then you could sell the breasts and cut your overhead!:D

It's kind of funny, and I know it's not what's happening, but we have also noticed our wild chickens have gone missing. We usually have about 10 in our front yard each morning, but not recently. hmmmmm*-)
