Smart retailers do advertise to the gay market, they just don't do it in TV commercials, but that is rapidly changing. From a business point of view a gay couple usually has a two income family with more disposable income. As adoption seems to become easier maybe the extra disposable income will change though. 😉

Well the warm-up of the "Rain Forest Symphony" of roosters, dogs, sheep, doves and frogs woke me just after sunrise. Enjoying a cup of joe, checking my email (waiting for tax return from CPA) I watch a couple of sugar birds find their way into the house . . . silly birds.

Have a blessed, beautiful day!

that's cute about the sugar birds. they can be quite strident if they get used to you putting out goodies for them like leftover fruit when you are late to the trough. they fairly shriek. amazing that so much sound come out of those tiny bodies.

I ran out of sugar one day & had a line-up of about 10-12 cranky sugar birds yelling at me. I never ran out of sugar again. :@)

Quite right about the big voice of the tiny sugar bird . . . I love listening to them and watching them chase each other about. I think they are upset that the orange and tangerine trees have no fruit or flowers . . . so, I set out the hummingbid feeder for them.

And . . . now when I hear the roosters, I hear them proclaiming "I love you" . . . they are short the "doodle" in their "cock a doodle do".:D

Arrrgh right back at you. I hope everyone enjoyed the great weather here on STX today. Happy Pastafarian easter to all of you fellow noodle heads out there. We can all be thankful to the Flying Spaghetti Monster for everything that he has given us.
Don't forget, we have all been touched by the noodly appendage.

Let's all show our gratitude to FSM by wearing our pirate costumes whenever possible and of course drinking lots of beer. Also remember to give a hearty Aarrrrggghhh! to everyone you see.

We had a great Easter weekend. Ha Penny beach on Saturday. Easter dinner at Carambola. Yummy. After eating we changed into swimsuits spent the afternoon swimming in the ocean. Before I could remove my coverup JJ was in the water with his boogie board yelling cowabunga dude. I was yelling at hubby to go and get him as he was swimming out to sea. He rode the waves for a couple of hours and no matter how many times he was tossed by rough waves he came up grinning. After Carambola we stopped at Off the Wall, hunted crabs, ate pizza and listened to some good music. We arrived home just before dark and I rushed to feed chickens, cat, dogs, crabs and the hamster. Got JJ bathed and finally got to read the world news on my computer. I was overjoyed to read that our Navy Seals took out those Somali pirates and rescued the very brave captain. HOO RAH Navy Seals. A perfect end to a perfect day.

SunORSki - I saw my first centipede when I was there in March; it was huge; thank God it was trapped between the screen and the window . It was at least 8 inches long. I too was creeped out. We sprayed it to death in the window sill. Yuck!!!.

To those with comments of the centipede nature, I just moved to STX last week after a brief visit about a month ago. . .so far I have managed to find 2 dead centipedes. My dog has a squeaky alien toy and that stands about 4 inches high, the folks at home were amused with my Alien vs Centipede web cam action. Haven't seen my first live one yet, crossing my fingers it stays that way.

hey all, well i started to cut down my mango tree and well nothing is ever easy is it,got about half of it down and then i hit the tangles of bnouganville, creeper vines and something with red berries,OMG what a mess i'm still unraveling it all so i took a break from that mess and cut down the carambola tree, why they had to plant these 2 trees 4 feet from the house is beyond me,the back side of the house finally gets air,and i hate wearing jeans but after 2 days of getting poked stabbed and scratched i gave up and put them on,2 nights in a row one of my cats brought me live bats,so thoughtful, how she can meow with a mouthfull of bat never ceases to amaze me and last night she brought me a rat she had killed, the roaches were getting bad again so i put the large baits in the septic tank and no more roaches

and sure enough, he's got it right in the middle of the floor for me to go AAAAAHHH!!! some more and then kill...(pant-pant!).

well i got a mouse last night, still alive and kicking and she dropped it at my feet and of course off it went behind the bookshelves so i put out a box of decon, the large baits are the roach baits i put them in the septic tank to kill the roaches, takes a couple of days but they die,oh just one quick generic comment, when you are trying to get a business liscense you really need to go easy with the ladies down at that particular office because if you don't your application gets put on the bottom of the pile and they can and will make you wait,i heard through the office lady grapevine this is what is happening to your liscense so you might want to send your business partner down there to play nice if you ever want to open your doors before next season. Senator nelson is running for gov,he was having his pic taken at the old ruins at the gov parking lot yesterday, BAD THING he's too anti business and pro labor, foncie wants the job as well thats why gov house is trying to get rid of him as sen president, hey i like foncie but i like dejongh as well, none of them are law and order enough for me,but i suppose when you're related to the entire island it's a hard thing to do,lol all those lost votes for cracking down on crime. oh and i had lunch at china jade at sunny isle today,i liked it,i had'nt eaten there for years and i recently met the husband of the owner and he sent me in for lunch,we ate there once back in 2000 but ended up at the place in peters rest,i'd go back to china jade for the ss chicken and spicy beef, the ladies working nice and the place is very clean!!!!!!! then i cabbed in to the library for books, one is a biography of president taft wife nellie and the other is about a serial killer in florence italy. i just finished a book about madonna written by her brother chris last year, lol he cause across as bitter and she is the evil queen, good book though cause he was with her every step of the way until her divorce from guy ritchie,oh and i just read a truly disturbing book called a prayer for the dying about a small wisconsin town after the civil war, read it if you get the chance

Hubby had to fly back to the states today as his father is at the end of his life. We explained to JJ that Daddy had to go back to the states for a while but would be home soon. He was fine and kissed him goodbye this morning. We were both a little sad but ok. Tonight JJ asked will Daddy be here in the morning when I wake up. I explained again that he would be home in a few weeks. He said, "Mommy I love you, but you are not Daddy and I want my Daddy. I totally understood and comforted him as much as I could with scratching his back and cuddling until he fell asleep. Though JJ is adopted we were able to be at his birth and even though I was the first face he saw and the first arms that held him he is related to my husband by blood but not to me. Blood will tell. I am ok with that and feel so very blessed to have such a wonderful little boy to share my life with.

TRW, you've done it now . . . I miss my cats . . . been a week and a day, all boys they only pretend to hunt. okay they are decent hunters just not decent killers. when they find the occassional baby mouse (please God let it be mice) the mouse always gets away and dies someplace hidden which I find by smell. Gross! Still . . . I love those silly kitties and miss them.
No more dead centipedes, very few millipedes (I guess due to dry season) but a few more roaches then I've seen before . . . not liking that. The bumble bees are bigger than the hummingbirds.
Oh, the hummingbirds learned how to use the feeder from the sugar birds but one hummer found it's way into the house today and it took hours to find it's way out. how if did not die from exhaustion I do not know.
The neighbor's dog finally let me pet her today. She is a great watchdog despite not being ours and has always stayed at least 8 feet away. She was barking her head off in the middle of my parking pad looking uphill. When I came out to see what was going on she stood her ground but let me come right up to her and then let me pet her . . . never did figire out what she was distressed about but I'm glad she's my friend.

gee thanks trw!! Not kidding, I woke up this morning and almost squished into Pokemon's regurgitated, partially digested, looking like an alien baby with that nasty inside-out looking mouse!!...EEEEWWWWW!!!! YUUUCCCKKKKK!!!!
As you might 've noticed, I was up late last night as usual (insomnia...but good for cleaning house;)) so I was late getting up...still had to clean it up...EEEEWWWW!!!!
Then tonight after getting home late, thank God I hadn't taken off my sneakers 'cause...yup! ...one of those 3-4 inch long teen-age 'pedes was headed straight for me so I stomped on him and added it to the "collection". Now I'm still looking every which way, looking at the floor, and have sprayed all perimeters, thresh-holds, cats, (not really)...hubby sleeping on the sofa...(really).

lol you guys,i've been hitching into town for the last couple of weeks, the other day i got picked up by 2 tourists from Estonia on their way to the botanical gardens, when people ask where i'm headed i tell them either town or centerline road anywhere because then i can take the 2.50 cab,the estonians were a young couple first time here staying at the arawak inn, they like democracy but said the biggest drawbacks are too many choices, esotian exports are timber and coal,i almost told them when i got out not to pick up hitchhikers but i did'nt want them to worry so i kept my mouth shut, today i got picked up at the drug tree by a born again and he got me to sunny isle with a minimum of preaching, i steered the convo to landscaping(his job) and the great rain we had the other night and now i'm at the library,my friend asha from undercover books gave me a book at work last night about, get this, a turkish kickboxing transvestite hooker in istanbul who solves murders in her spare time lol i read the whole book when i got home last night,it was hilarious,"the kiss murder"

well so far today i've had 3 different drivers honk at me to see if i'm ready to go to lavallee, lol now they want that 25 bucks,i've not had to cab it since i dropped down to nights because my boss takes me home and i pay him in chocolate from steeles and then i hitch in during the day, just had a couple of tacos at microwave magic with the chickens,i really like the courtyard there the walls are just high enough to filter out the traffic noise,so calming in there, you can imagine what is was like when it was a house back in the old days, downtown seems fairly busy today lots of people running around.
