just walked to the corner store and back and i'm drenched,it's hot today, 4of the young guys up here were walking their pitbulls and rotties and telling each other to keep their dogs away from their dogs,i'd like to ask if any of them would come and dig holes for my plants but i no longer think thats a good idea because my dogs would get used to them being in the yard.

trw, are you growing any veggies and fruits right now. I am going to plant tons of green beans when I get back.

I am trying to adopt a boarder collie rescue for JJ. I know I should adopt on island but I really want a boarder collie for my high energy boy. He needs a companion. I think pregnant daughter is going to adopt another island dog before she leaves and she is trying to get us to adopt one as well.

i just got this pm from a person that i never would have thought could be like this, and now this person has become in my eyes another heroHi Troy,

If I were 35 years younger - I might get involved in organizing this fight - but I'm not.

Here is what I think would be most effective:

Target all the police sub-stations once a week every Sunday in September, probably at either 10 or 11 am for ONE HOUR.

People would go to the sub-station nearest their home. The first week you'd aim for 25-50 people at each substation. What are there 6? Each person would carry an 8 1/2" x 11" photo of one of the people murdered this year. Everyone would be well dressed and ABSOLUTELY SILENT, no signs, no speeches, no disruption of police activity. The group would gather outside the station, not blocking traffic or the sidewalk. The group would stand sliently in front of the station for an hour. At the end of the hour everyone would dispurse(sp).

Next week, same thing - for 4 weeks.

Media would have to be notified and someone would have to gather together the photos and makie them available, probably via the internet.

It will embarass the police and DeJongh without being a disaster for the Tourism industry. And it will encourage discourse, not yelling and screaming, IMO. There is also an element of suspense - will they be back next week?

If you like the idea, it's yours to do with what you want.

Not only should you stand out side the police stations, but also in front of govt house. Have pictures of all 120 UNSOLVED deaths & light a candle for each one............do this EVERY DAY! Start a march down King past the govt house............find out where the check points are & hold pictures of our fallen....signs stating "check points DON'T solve murders"......remind the police & the govt officials they work for the people!
And finally, get registered to vote in the VI & remove the expensive dead weight from office. TRW, sure you don't wanna run???

ok i called the librarian at the daily news today and she's going to research the unsolved murder thing for me and come up with a list,i'll talk to one of the lawyers at lunch tomorrow to see if i need to do a non profit thing,if so i want betty,a.davis and a couple of others involved representing all the islands, betty you get to do the books if there are any, then i'll place ads in the community sections of both papers for names dates and if possible pictures, once i have that i'll go to a better copy and talk to pam,oh and i almost had a scoop for you tonight but i couldn't find a computer downtown at 5:30 anywhere, one of my friends sits on the wapa board and he came in a 530 just off the seaplane from STT that they went with alpine energy so it's going to be waste to energy supplimented with pet coke from hess and they're building it on the south shore he figures it will take about 4 years and then they'll phase out the wapa plant in town,oh i'm going to call this project "the usvi names project"

well tomorrow morning after i get a haircut,i'm starting to look like a hippie,i go see the office manager at one of the law firms downtown to learn about non profits, she ran one with francis but since his death she does it by herself. the boys from zebos were in this am and we were talking about the wapa thing and i could not answer a few of their questions, nor could either of the papers and wapa guy from last night just happened to walk in and spent about 20 minutes answering all of our questions, and he only charged head zebo guy to strips of bacon, not bad for a lawyer, stx is getting the smaller of the units because wapa is in talks with another company that will burn cleaner and provide 10 additional megawatts for a total of 26 which is about half of our peak.

lol...I like the realtor comment. Its true on this island we do not have many realtors that are not sharks. It can be very hard to build up a career here and survive on the limited amount of houses and condos we have for sale. Although quite a few of the limited listings are very very expensive. 😉

Yep I remember when that came out. I was afraid to watch it at first because I heard about the "twist'? And it was pretty dark for its time, not sure if I would still think so if I saw it again.

TRW - I saw the cook, the thief, wife, lover when it came out. Helen Mirren was in it and I loved it. Not many of my friends did though. It;s really an artsy film.
