i saw the most beautiful woman walk past the restaurant window tonight and i wanted a better look so i ran outside LOL,she was the tall thin type, long wavy hair a light skin black woman, just beautiful,i doubt if she's hit 30 yet,she was wearing a kind of wrap around green dress that really showed off her figure in a very classy way and 3 inch heels and that woman knows how to walk in heels and thats not easy on cobblestones. i met the couple building the 26 million dollar estate out east,he got a few hundred million in fees from the tobacco settlement stuff, both very gracious people.and i heard that the 4 senators that went to diageo to renegotiate parts of the contract were told by the diageo people ok we'll do it for you so you can look good politically but the diageo lawyers said no,not enough time, heres what you say before the vote,we are against parts of this contract but we are voting in favor of it to get it away from puerto rico, all of the senators were supposed to get 3 minutes of speech time right before the vote but senator white somehow quashed that and just forced the vote,so the 4 voted no because they did not get a chance to talk, kinda childish if you ask me, usie would have voted no anyway. I asked the Williams and Punch lawyer how that was going and he said it's moving along nicely and that he wished he owned property over in f'sted lol.Hey KLJ555 i know one of the downtown lawyers on company street is looking for someone to do "grind out" work for him,he's probally the funniest lawyer i've met here over the years i think i met him back in 2002 when i worked at st tropez,oh and the police released the name of the 4th bad guy from the cane bay boozefest assault in Welcome, chrishawn harley,19, lol he was an a.m. busboy at my 12 mile job this past season and was suspected there of small personal thefts(cell phones, personal cash from purses,ect...)well he got fired for coming in late and generally just being a bad busboy, lol well after he left the small thefts stopped, they should like him over in golden grove, tall thin and pretty, hahaha. the 2 dogs from salt river beach ran off on me,they hung in the yard for a few days and would come inside to eat but then one day about a week ago they just disappeared and i could'nt find them anywhere,i really think they need to be in a home without other animals, they did not get on well with the other 3 dogs here, and my 3 were friendly and wanted to and tried to play with them, but those 2 wanted nothing to do with it.

i worked with Anabel tonight,of you don't know her you should, she's a great person, been here for like 30 years came here when she was 9 and in all that time has left for an extended period of time once and that was only for 6 months.I talked to one of the guys that the Demmansay website likes to trash and he told me he wrote them a rebutal letter and they never printed it and then i asked him who owns the site and he told me he thought springer owned it but that he denies it and so i guess it all makes sense to me now, they are an anti goverernment website and springer is running for senate

LOL the southpark movie just started, now i love southpark because they are not afraid to take on every single "sacred cow" in the world on, i love that they go after everything, anyone and any group and do it with great humour, sarcasm and wit. and hey if you want to read a really startling raw novel buy the book called "sauls book" by paul t rogers,it truly is incredible, he's dead he was killed by his adopted son,and the book has been out of print for awhile now but there are copies for sale on ebay,it centers around life in and around times square and 42nd street in the 70's,i've read it 3 times now and it still haunts me.

OK, positives:

1. Everyone's a bit wacky (myself included.)
2. Nobody cares what kind of car you drive.
3. That snobby, country-club attitude doesn't exist in the main. There is that in a small sector but snobbery only works if others are trying hard to break into the snobby set & really, nobody seems to do that here.
4. Weather.
5. Beaches
6. Views. If you're stuck in rush hour traffic, it's not so bad sitting next to the harbor & sure beats the I-5.
7. Iguanas. I love them, others hate them.
8. Deer that swim in the ocean.
9. Small town feel.
10. Nobody cares who you were in your stateside life, just what you are now.
11. There's always great gossip. 😀
12. If there's a disaster, you will experience or see great acts of kindness.
13. Caribbean Christmases are the best in the world.
14. Little kids are the politest you'll find anywhere.
15. Small things make everyone really happy - like rain, after a dry spell.
16. After that rain, it smells like a botanical garden.
17. No poison ivy, oak or sumac.
18. You can see the stars at night.
19. Rainbows, rainbows, rainbows.
20. Everywhere you go, you run into people you know.
21. A wardrobe malfunction here means the strap on your flip-flop broke.
22. There's not much of a corporate ladder to climb, more like a stepstool, if that.
23. No yuppie dominance or culture.
24. Pates.
25. Mongoose. Did you see the front page picture yesterday of the mongoose sitting on the "Here B Mongoose" sign?

These are great things that I like to hear!

Trw, I'll look for the movie & add it to the mile-long queue at Netflix. What's the anti-government site you mentioned?

Went for lunch at Shipwreck. Friday is 1/2 off all burgers day for their 3/4 pounders. There's an 18% service charge added on plus either $1.50 or $2.00 service charge for take-outs & a couple of dollars if you want to split an order. I always tip more than 18% but didn't because while I understand the need to do that for large groups I'm not thrilled with it for a table for 2.

For it being 1/2 off on burgers I thought $25.37 for 2 cheeseburgers, an order of onion rings, an iced tea & a Haake Beck was steep. The place was empty. It's back to Delly Deck for me.

TRW, I saw the 2 dogs the other night at Rust op Twist, right there at the turn where the yellow house sits, by the time I turned around to try to get them they had ran into the bush. I spoke with the people that live in the yellow house the next day and they have seen the dogs for the past week running up & down the beach. I gave them my phone # so if they see them again we can try to rescue them again. If anyone sees them please PM me. We now have a new dog that has appeared in the salt river area, it is a med. size dog white with black spots and has on a red/pink collar. I'm going to try to get close to it to see if it has tags, it doesn't look like it. It is real skiddish and won't let me get near it. If anyone knows about this dog please let me know. People drop there dogs off in this area a lot, this will be the 4th dog in the last couple of months that we will rescue. It's crazy. Wish I could keep them all but I have a large dog who does not like other dogs. She is the Queen of our home. LOL!
Thanks.

ok,you know i drive through rust op 3 or 4 times a day for my jobs and i've never seen them,i wonder if i should put some food out over there or will the yellow house people get upset,i'm bringing my homeless guy a bunch of trash bags on my way to work today, someone dumped out the blue garbage barrel where he sleeps and then took the barrel and left the trash. I watched him shadow box the other day while i was at the light. Dude is quick

trw, If you want to try to put food out you could, when I spoke to the girl who lives in the yellow house she was real cool about it, I asked her if she see's them to maybe try and give them some food so they would hang there then she could call me, I'm sure you could ask them about leaving food. She leaves water out for a stray cat, so they may be drinking that. The house is the one right at the sharp turn, yellow, on the beach, I think it is a rental house with several tenants.
I'm sure we will find them one day. They love the beach, they are beach dogs. We may go down later today to see if we see them on the beach and try to lure them with food.
Let me know if you see them.
Thanks.

i just pick the leaves from the tree and wash them off then crush em up alittle and steep them in hot hot water for awhile, sometimes i like to add alittle honey and lime sometimes not,i like to pitcher it up and keep it cold for ice tea,now this is not the "bush" tea that alot of the ladies drink,i've never had that,if you ever want a fast system cleanse go get a couple of aloe vera stalks and wash them off and toss em in a blender with some oj and blend away, you'll spend some time in the bathroom in a couple of hours but it cleans your colon and intestines and blood of toxins and it makes you feel better if you do it too days in a row and fast between doses

i normally don't do this but hey this ones for Tammy, love TRW Why boys need parents...

And you also find out interesting things when you have sons, like...

1.) A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000 sq. ft. house 4 inches deep.

2.) If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite.

3.) A 3-year old Boy's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.

4.) If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42 pound Boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to spread paint on all four walls of a 20x20 ft. room.

5.) You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When using a ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.

6.) The glass in windows (even double-pane) doesn't s top a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.

7.) When you hear the toilet flush and the words 'uh oh', it's already too late.

8.) Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.

9.) A six-year old Boy can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36-year old Man says they can only do it in the movies.

10.) Certain Lego's will pass through the digestive tract of a 4-year old Boy.

11.) Play dough and microwave should not be used in the same sentence.

12.) Super glue is forever.

13.) No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming pool you still can't walk on water.

14.) Pool filters do not like Jell-O.

15.) VCR's do not eject 'PB & J' sandwiches even though TV commercials show they do.

16.) Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.

17.) Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving.

18.) You probably DO NOT want to know what that odor is.

19.) Always look in the ov en before you turn it on; plastic toys do not like ovens.

20.) The fire department in Austin , TX has a 5-minute response time.

21.) The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earthworms dizzy.

22.) It will, however, make cats dizzy.

23.) Cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.

24.) 80% of Women will pass this on to almost all of their friends, with or without kids.

25.) 80% of Men who read this will try mixing the Clorox and brake fluid.

theres a movie on cable right now called "freedom writers" it's one of those inner city teacher movies, you know the ones that give you "liberal guilt",it's really really good,it's about a teacher who gives her students notebooks to write about their lives and these are almost all inner city gangbanger kids or kids living at or below the poverty level, the teachers dedication reminds me of my moms dedication to her students, when we lived in grand forks nd she left teaching in the public school system to teach at a private inner city catholic school that catered to mainly low income latinos, the pay was like 8 bucks an hour back then in the early to mid 80's,she was a reading and math specialist and then designed programs for the retarted students, every student of hers got a small present and a card on their b-day and all holidays,i know i had to help wrap the damn things,at easter they all got baskets and no kid was ever left out at valentines or xmas, lol i built more easter baskets than i can shake a stick at,my stepdad made a decent living and so she paid for all of this out of her own pocket, she was living her dream and the night before she died of a heartattack in her sleep at the age of 44 we had made up about 50 easter baskets,we did that on the 31st of march in 1985 i think and she died on april 1st,now trust me i'm not making her out to be a saint she had days when she made imelda marcos and evita look like girl scouts, but it was her unflagging devotion to the kids she taught that impresses me to this day,and so i truly love these dedicated teacher movies and i hope they inspire people somehow to enter the teaching field

when we lived in laredo texas i had a teacher whose name was mrs.odin or more fomally mrs.jack odin, she was one of those women that liked her class so much she kept tranferring with us as we advanced up in the grades, she was my teacher for the half of my 4th,and all of my 5th,6th,7th,and 8th grades and when we graduated from junoir high and went on to high school she stopped teaching and became the school principle, this woman was the one that knocked the sense into me and all bigotry out of me i made the mistake as a fifth grader of saying to a fellow student"you're just a mexican" and i tell you what shitt hit the fan, between this woman and my mother i soon came to realize that white people are nothing special and that we all are just people and we all poop in the morning, just another one of those people that provided me with an education of the education of life

trw - uhoh, now you've gone and done it! You've come up with a whole new category for discrimination and bigotry! Maybe some people don't poop in the morning. Maybe some people poop at midday or sunset or late at night. We're going to have a war between the poop groups, just you wait and see!

after that we transferred to grand forks nd so i went through 9-12 grades there and i tell you what my best friends were the sons in the oliva family lol they were low income latinos,i could no longer relate to the white kids because in laredo whites are the minority and all the kids i ran with were mexican, well stepdad did not like this at all and mom did'nt give a shit what color my friends were she was just happy that i had friends, we had moved so much and i had gone to like 7 different schools in 3 states so far and always an outsider so she was just glad i found a circle of friends,i will always have a special place in my heart for mexicans, when i was a junior in high school the white hockey cheerleaders turned me on to drugs, and in north dakota hockey rules and its run by the whites and by then everyone in school knew i was a homo and so the popular chicks and their boyfriends knew i was safe,so i ran with these great looking cheerleaders with their boyfriends approval or i ran with the biker chicks, lol i got adopted by the bikers at club 81 when i was like 16 hahahaha,so anyway i'm drifting into memories,so i guess i'm comfortable around every class of society because of the way i was brought up i am not or have ever been intimated of people,no matter their social class, you know when i lived in denver at the age of 20 and 21 i got the best street education from the black drag queen hookers,my favorite was a woman named chocolate and one night she got shot and bled to death inside the restaurant i was working in at the time on the corner of colfax and pearl

Thanks trw. A girlfriend of mine also sent me that a while back. It is all so true and I can add a few. Most importantly a boy can start fire with eye glasses, magnifying glasses and flint. 2 kids jumping on a trampoline will knock each others teeth out with their heads. Jumping off the garage into a 4ft above ground pool is not a good idea. Ceiling fans and boys should never be in the same house together. Jumping your skateboard on the roof of Kmart will get you arrested.

Trade, I loved your list of positives. When I go back to the states and people ask me what it is like living here, unless it is a specific thing, like what kind of stores do we have, I have a hard time explaining. I just want to say, it's a feeling or a different lifestyle. Come and see for yourself. No matter what we say, good or bad, you can't understand or get the full picture unless you live here.

Alexandra, I have already ask hubby is there a way to harness all this heat. The only thing I can come up with is heating the pool. It isn't so bad here at the house or the beach. Shopping is embarrassing. When my daughters were here I was buying one of them a bracelet. While leaning on the glass counter looking I left a puddle on the display case. I don't know how the human body can produce so much fluid. When we go out to eat, I now just tell the waitress that I spilt my water, may I have a towel.

JJ wants to snorkel every day now. He is hooked. He can also swim across the pool with no floatation device and dives to the bottom to find items that we throw in. Yesterday hubby put a scuba tank in the pool and let JJ put the regulator in his mouth. He would only let him sit on the step and put his face in the water. He asked if he could take his snorkeling stuff when we go back to the states to visit next week. He doesn't remember that he thought the water was too dirty to swim in last time we were there. 🙁

Have a good day everyone.

Tam
