suggestion for adderall prescription?
I was wondering if anyone can suggest a doctor who can handle renewing my Adderall prescription once I'm on St. Croix? I am really nervous because my current doctor is unable to prescribe once I'm on the island. Also can anyone recommend a therapist for anxiety?
Feel free to PM if you prefer. I would be so grateful for any leads!

a link to the phone book, check it out and see if you see the type of dr you need. if not call the hospital or the health clinic or the urgent care and see if they have recommendations
I use the local juju man.[/quote
Now that's funny! I might have to find this juju man myself. Does he/she have a cell?

Can't your doctor continue to write prescriptions and fax or email script to Walgreen's or Kmart while you look for an on island doctor/therapist?

No. It's a controlled drug and can't be prescribed by a physician not licensed to practice here. Same as interstate and only very limited exceptions.

No. A C2 script must be presented as an original to the dispensing pharmacy. Her Dr can write the script and mail it to her and then she brings it to the pharmacy but it can't be faxed or emailed.
Thanks for the correction but it would still be wise to check with whatever pharmacy you're going to be dealing with here and they may want to verify directly with the prescribing physician.
I took a prescription written at the hospital here to the pharmacy a few months back. It was for a controlled drug and they wouldn't fill it as although it was a hospital prescription pad and the physician's name was stamped on it, the physician didn't actually sign it and there was one tiny alteration made on it which wasn't countersigned. I didn't go back to the hospital to get it rewritten as it was a basically, "in case of need" standby. They're increasingly picky about controlled drugs these days - as they should be.
Controlled substance must have the Drs name his actual signature and his DEA number. No alterations allowed. The OPs providers refusal, I suspect, has more to do with his being not familiar with federal regulations regarding C2's and his inability to monitor the patient. You'd be surprised at what Drs really don't understand about prescription protocols.

Check with Canada drugs--com. Use them for years. Ship to your PO quickly and many $ less. (not sure of your current scrip whether eligible or not) Good luck
Had a friend a couple of years back who tried the Canada route. The prescription was filled but the package was intercepted and confiscated when it reached the territory. I don't think he ever got his money back from the supplier.

Are you travelling with insurance that will cover your doctor and prescription cost?
