I'm so glad to see you all gradually coming back online on this forum after these two terrible hurricanes, and to know you're safe. Though I've never met nor spoken to any of ya directly (only messaging here), never for a moment did you leave my thoughts and prayers as these two terrifying hurricanes were approaching, while they were upon you and now during your difficult recovery. Arrangements had been made to ship vehicle and drastically downsized remaining household goods from here in Michigan and was literally signing my home closing papers on 7 Sep as the first photos of the devastation were coming out of STT and STJ, SO shocking and sad...I'm still destined for your (our) to-be-beautiful-again islands just as soon as there's some semblance of livable infrastructure; the last thing you locals need now is a newcomer looking for housing, etc. while so many are in the basic human needs mode...best I can do from here is to continue supporting with $$$ in your relief and rebuilding efforts, so thanks for all the donation recommendations. My temporary home for my stubborn but lovable pug and myself will be in Merritt Island, FL on the Space Coast for however long it takes but for now, again, my thoughts and prayers are with you all, take care! - Dave

Some trees down but not too bad, of course electricity was out for a while like the rest of FL

Hi Dave, I'm so glad you did not already have your possessions in transit to here. It will be a long time before St John or St Thomas are desirable places to live again. Wishing you the very best in your unexpected next phase.
