Hello:

My name is Kimberly and I will be moving to St. Croix on July 8th. I will be working as a traveling R.N. for Juan F Louis Hospital.
I was so happy to find this web site. I was wondering about purchasing transportation on St. Croix ? Can I purchase a Moped for example or would it be better to have one imported to the island? I have spend hours on the internet trying to locate one on the islands without success. Thanks for any input.

Kimberly

Hello Kimberly,

Welcome to the board!

There used to be a moped rental place on St. Croix but not anymore, I mention it because they would also sell them. There are a couple on St. Thomas and it might be cheaper, as far as shipping, to get one on St. Thomas and ship it over to St. Croix... rather than from the states to St. Croix. You might also consider a used car.

There were two mopeds in Western Auto yesterday for $2000 apiece.

What I would suggest is once you get there to ask around the other 'travelers'. They usually will pass the ropes on from one to the other as far as things like that!

Hello sidnie...I have been trying to find a travel job to St Croix. Which travel companies go there? Are you welcomed as a traveler by other nurses? Any info would be so welcome. Thanks

HI,
I've sent you a private email . ANyhow, the two companies are cross country and medservices. Cross country doesn't offer you a car, which is a necessity, med services does. They both have about the same housing from what i hear. I'm with medservices because I could only do 3 months and cross country wants 6, so does medservices but they took me. Feel free to contact me and I'll gladly answer all your quesitons. The staff here are awsome and fun to work with. IF you dive the diving here is awsome. Good luck to you.
