Tropical Shipping estimate?

Do any of you seasoned folks have a ballpark figure of what Tropical Shipping will charge to send say, around 300 lbs. of personal belongings packed in boxes (let's say they can all fit on one pallet) from West Palm Beach to STT?

Also, once the ship unloads at STT how/where are the packages delivered/picked up? What if you have them delivered to STJ - is there a general location that they deliver to, or do you pick them up at the car barge dock?

Thanks!

Tropical Shipping charges by volume (cubic feet), not weight.

I would suggest just calling them as well as Crowly and a couple other places, directly, for your estimate/quote.

Thanks everyone! Calling them was indeed, the right answer. The woman I spoke to on the phone, Pat, was delightfully helpful and patient with me.

The staff at the Palm Beach facility were all competent and friendly.

My two pallets of stuff, with a comined weight of 535 lbs and some 69 cubic feet (not sure about that one, that may have been for just one of them) ended up costing $580 to ship. We will be paying a guy $50 to clear it (in St. Thomas) and they will be delivering it to Tropical's location on St. John for us to pick up.

We'll see how it all arrives, probably on Friday...
