Good morning all...can anybody recommend a local vehicle broker in STT who can take care of clearing and registering/plating my vehicle upon its arrival?

Also any local auto insurance recommendations?

Regards

Your shipper may be able to recommend someone or have the registration process done for you.
You will need insurance to get registered.

I'll let others make their recommendations for that.

Enjoy your time here.
Hope all goes well for you.

We used International Logistics when we shipped 5 years ago. Meme St. John set up the process. She has an ad on this website. All we had to do was provide proof of insurance.

I've used International Logistics twice, Top of the Line once, and most recently. I would use Top of the Line again. I know I've already said it quite a bit, but the shipping and logistics companies are really busy right now. Most are slow to respond and things tend to take longer. Just be persistent. If you are going to end up living on St. John, I like St. John Insurance Agency. You will need your Bill of Lading to get insurance which you will not get until the ship sails. You can set up almost everything with the insurance company prior to the ship sailing, but they will not issue the insurance card until they get the BOL.

Thanks for the info StJohnJulie, for now it looks like I’ll probably initially stay in STT, only because rentals are almost non-existent in STJ right now, although that has always been my intended location. And who know, perhaps will be pleasantly surprised with something that becomes available in STJ during my 15-30 May visit...as one of my old real estate trainers taught me, “never say never, and never say always,” and that has stuck with me.

That saying will do you well here. I tend not to be surprised by the way things go much anymore. So many serendipitous things happen to me here that I now just call that being part of a small, tight community.

I had PGU for years for car insurance and was pleased with them. I changed recently because their office on STJ was destroyed in the storms and wasn't sure where to find them without going to STT. I had three 'imported' cars registered with them throughout the years and they made the process really easy.

Thanks StJohnJulie, yeah looks like PGU has an office on Weymouth Rymer Hwy in STT, will check them out while in town.
