Anyone ever tried to find employment through the VI DOL office (both STX & STT)? Any results? How do the employees treat you? I was always told that going there is an all day thing with no results. Is it really about who you know instead of what you know?

I went to apply for unemployment on STX when I was laid off last year for 6 weeks. They were professional and very helpful. I filled out the paperwork, watched a short video, and was on my way. My unemployment started about 2 weeks later, got it by mail. I wasn't really "looking" for another job, but I saw plenty of people who were responding to specific job postings. Everyone seems pleasant -- I was going to say friendly, but that wasn't really the case. You should give them a chance.
