Since it's a one-way ticket you'll probably really get hit with TSA security. Best of luck & bring money! Merry Christmas!

Edited to add that I hope you'll be as happy as I've been with my decision to move here many years ago. You're in for a terrific adventure.

Trade, can you elaborate some on the "TSA Security" issues for one wayers?

Depending on the way your traveling TSA will choose to do a full search of your luggage.

I was recently traveling:

From Rome.
Alone.
After a weeks stay.
With no job.
And I am a young man.

So they searched everything.

If your traveling with someone and tell them your moving or employed you might not have as much trouble.

I just came back three weeks ago. I had a one way form Phx to STX. I had another one way three weeks later form STX to Orlando. No problems with security on any flights.
Maybe you had problems because of international flights.

A friendly TSA agent, after my asking why I was always searched, patted down, etc. told me some of the reasons why some people are searched (I'm ALWAYS picked for this.) A few of the reasons she gave were one-way tickets, tickets paid with cash and mileage upgrades. I don't remember the others. As with everything with TSA, it's at the whim of the agent so nothing may happen or you'll be pulled aside. I've just resigned myself to being searched.

i discovered after i started using my passport all the time instead of a state ID i was no longer pulled out of line and searched when traveling on a one-way,could it be because i was in the TSA system as a regular? i pretty much always fly one way because i city hop when i go places
