Well, just booked our flights for returning to STX for Christmas/New Years. In case anyone is wondering, there are three of us flying from Louisville, Ky on Dec. 22 and returning on Jan. 5, via Delta. We travel to Atlanta and then have a direct flight to STX. Same on the return. No more stopping in San Juan (nightmare on our last trip). Total cost was $720 per person roundtrip, plus miscellaneous fees of about $81, so about $2200 for the three of us total. Not great, but I've paid higher.

197 days plus a few hours until we leave!!

I have 94 days before I will finally be relocating to STT. I am patiently awaiting my departure, hoping the days fly right by, and before I know I will be in paradise, permanently. I will no longer be shoveling snow : )

Edward, yes, in 2006 and again in 2008. Retirement is looming at the end of this year, which hopefully means much more time (if not full-time immediately) on the island.

Primarily itinerary this time. We wanted the direct flight from Atlanta to STX, as last time we had a nightmare on both our incoming and outgoing flights that connected in San Juan. Interestingly enough, these also turned out to be the least expensive flights for that time of year (per Expedia and Travelocity).

For how our last trip went, take a look at this link: https://www.vimovingcenter.com/talk/read.php?4,88596,88596#msg-88596

Steve, I agree with that nightmare description of yours. I've not had that kind of drama trying to get out or home. Hope you didn't get docked for a day of work on Monday....!:S

22 foot Penske box truck. 70 mph max, buckboard ride, fighting to keep the bike upright in the trailer I can't see behind the truck and it's noisy as hell. I guess you could say I'VE had my A$$ kicked before. I still have my ticket for AA out of Miami Sat. Baton Rouge LA now for the night. Someone please tell Tommy at Coconuts to keep the beer cold, that's where I'M heading Sunday.

UUAWW. WE'LL keep an eye out for you. I'M in Miami now and still on schedule and yes it has kicked my ass. Don't ever forget the fact we at Above the Cliff are in fact a Bar / Grill. I want you have a good time but a good meal as well. It could be that starting the place in the off season will allow us time to iron out any wrinkles we may have . It will be a local place, emphasis on the local clientele. Tourist will be great and I am sure I will meet plenty of people who will become friends. Fair warning here,Don't come looking for the fine white bone china or white table cloths, they don't go well with BBQ sauce. As I said,I will be at Coconuts Sunday for some food, cold beer and Blues jam.

Just look for the guy who's hair is falling out and sports two sleeved tattooed arms.
