Apparently I spend too much time in dntw8up-world because I didn't hear about the couple whose yacht was struck by a whale and sank in the BVI in early April. I just saw the story here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/centralamericaandthecaribbean/5496679/British-couples-yacht-sunk-by-whale-in-Caribbean.html Clearly I need to get out more often! 😀

Hey Yearasta --

I was visiting with friends and was confused when they started talking about a whale sinking a yacht. They couldn't believe I hadn't heard about it, and the consensus was that everyone knows but me. And sad to say, while my friends prattled on, I drifted off into dntw8up-world, and my mind combined the whale tale with last week's vinow post about horse excrement floating off the beach in STX, and I began to wonder why I've never encountered whale scat in the sea, imagining it would be about my size and difficult to miss. I have much to learn.

I have an interesting story about wales. Back in the late 70s we took a trip on a chartered sail boat. During the sail, wales showed up. Carlos took the dinging, and went out to take pictures of the wales with all of our camera and movie equipment. Unfortunately, one mother thought Carlos was trying to mess with her calf, and she promptly flipped the dingy with her tail.

The equipment that went to the bottom was a large loss, but one of the High-8 cameras had been used by The Doors to film their exploits.

/fathers favorite cousin was the road manager for The Doors and built their sound systems
//does that really reveal who I am to long time residents of STT?

Clearly a case of mistaken identity since it is the Japanese and not the British who have defied the ICW's ban on whaling. Nevertheless, a clear message has been sent by the whales.
