St Tomian reports from STT

Paradise lost with a promise of hope

The medical detachment from Fort Bragg just folded their MASH tents and packed up their Humvies. They are leaving in fear of unticipated Maria hit. So essentially this effort was wasted entirely. They got a nice trip on C-17 and burned plenty of diesel running AC in unoccupied tents. Nice show of mighty force against nature. My guess is the high command forgot that September and October are top hurricane months in Carribiean.

I believe it was reported they are only evacuating to a ship offshore until the storm passes. Or at least that's the case for some of the military support.

I expect the military is evacuating both islands, not the residents.

Just pulling back until after the storm, there's nothing we can do untll after, no point in staying to become someone who needs assistance.

we have a ton of assets already here, it could be worse.
