Haven't tried it yet. It took my friend 2 hours for a Pizza order yesterday.

But, I hope the food is better than John Eddie's. It behooves me to think how long it took them to get that place (john Eddie) open and serve such crappy food. I'm from the South and haven't tasted anything that resembles Southern cooking. They better step it up. Every time we have gone there they had warm beer or last Thursday night at 6pm, I was told they were out of Miller Lite!!! Husband went to bar downstairs and got me one.

It's just the old Pleasants location revamped into yet another iteration. That location is terrible and nothing every makes it there for very long. Pleasants hung by a thread for many years and lasted longer than most anticipated. But, in the end, it failed. This place most likely will, too.

STX just doesn't have enough business to support a bar at this location. Back in the day, like in the 80's and 90's it did. But, that was long ago.

Pleasants was my go to spot while the wife shopped in C'sted. Always a cold beer and a seat to watch people.

Hopefully Nug is wrong. The Boardwalk now boasts:
- Angry Nates
- Rumrunners
- John Eddies
- Commanche Mill
- Brew Pub
- You are Here

That sounds like a good night of bar hopping.

AMEN! It behooves me when people get all worked up over places running out of things, not the end of the world and shockingly even restaurants in the states run out of things too! 🙂

A hard business to be in unless you have a good local clientel to keep you running thru the slow summer and fall months.
The key is good food, consistency and good service for a fair price.

I also think a lot depends on the owners. Most popular, sucessful restaurants on STX have the owners there, smiling, greeting, and working their butts off. We hung at Off the Wall quite a bit and I know Diana and Craig's personal touch contributed greatly to it's success.

Our vote goes for the Bombay Club. Consistent good food, great menu, and good service!

Went to John Eddies a few weeks ago and was NOT impressed with the service nor the food. Can't believe it took them that long to build it and that much money to provide bad service and questionable food! Makes no sense. If you are going to do it, then damit, do it right!

Love the Bombay Club when the owner is there. Don't like his manager.

The pizza from You Are Here is great with a good thick sauce. It's $16 plus $1/topping. Best on the island. We placed an order and it was ready in 20 min.-drove down the side street next to it to pick up.

Any Clevelanders (or Indians fans) on island, join us at You Are Here tonight for the Tribe's opening day versus Toronto. You can enjoy some of that great pizza (the dough for which, if I'm not mistaken, is shipped to STX from Cleveland).
