Biggest Halloween bash on STT?
I am having Halloween withdrawals already. In the states I go nuts and make huge props for my yard haunt. Usually the news shows up and I alway have a fire truck full of cute firefighters that make me shut off half my fog machines. ;D I realize that it's not as celebrated here as on the states for many reasons including cultural. My question is do any of the bars or restaurants do a big costume party or decorate up their bar? I am looking to help for FREE (obviously I will not pay for props - just free labor) to feed my habit. I dont do cutesy props - gory, bloody, scary is my bag, I am also an artist, have some great painting skills (can make VERY realistic headstones - look just like concrete) and can build just about anything. I also want to check out a costume contest or two. Already started my costume lol. It's a sick habit.
Foxy's masquerade ball is a blast if you're up for a trip to JVD.
Maybe you can entice Hull Bay Hideaway to do so & I'll come and Haunt you!!!;)
I was thinking Hideaway would be fun, that huge area would make for a fun maze. I doubt I could get them on board with funding.
I'm sure you could if there were a cover charge to get in an partake of the fun/scary house. I'm sure people would be more than happy to spend $15.00-$20.00 a head to get inside and have a little fun and not to mention what they would make off of selling "spirits" (wink). I'm sure these owners are a lot more progressive than Larry ever was.
The bars of Red Hook usually have Halloween specials and costume contests.
Just read the Island Trader and Daily News when it gets closer to Halloween because that is when all the bars/restaurants, organizations, etc. advertise about their Halloween parties. Some have cash prizes. Others are fundraisers for specific organizations. You will busy going to all parties.
Shipwreck is having a costume contest. 1st prize $500, 2nd prize $250. Call them for more information
