Tina Fey, while spoofing Sarah Palin, said she could see Russia from her back porch, after Sarah Palin told Katie Couric she could see Russia from the shore of Alaska. Most believed that Palin said that!

And her remark that you can see Russia from the shore of Alaska is acurate. I'm so sick of partisan crap. She made an accurate statement and someone spoofed her so the opposition made sure it seemed like she made the wrong statement. No one cares about facts anymore only perception. For the record both parties do it and I'm sick of them both!

Palin did do stuff like jot down notes for pre-fed questions on her hand. I can't believe that woman was close to being number two. She is one of the main reasons why I voted for Obama in 2008.

Sarah Palin Caught Writing Notes on Hand for Tea Party Interview

On the other hand both parties lie and connive. Obama in 2012 was a marginal call for me.

Notes on your hand, perhaps it's her version of the TelePrompTer 🙂 Am I better off now than 4 years ago? NOPE, definitely not.

Are you actually arguing that Palin was a good choice for VP?

Nope, comparing their 'technology' for speeches. Better than Biden? YIKES!

About as good a choice as Obama for president. Absolutely no relevant experience. Unless you consider ACORN experience. I'm still waiting for him to do something except blame Bush for all of his(Obama's) failures. Isn't Obama the TelePrompTer king?

All I have to say is that I am so glad Sarah Palin never became our VP!

But imagine all of the award winning episodes of The Daily Show that we missed out on.

OldTart, I was the person who in their right mind left my engagement ring in the locked glove box of the locked rental car. I had no idea that Kenneth Matthias was hiding in the woods and saw me take off my ring then proceeded to steal it and sell it for crack. To make matters worse, jerks like you are providing an excuse to continued crime; you are part of the problem. I will not be coming back to the USVI, there are plenty of other places in this world to go. I learned my lesson and will not make that mistake again, what is your excuse for being an a**hole?

Excuse me? I had to go back on this thread to see exactly why I deserved such a slamming right out of the blue and I'm afraid I still don't "get it". I'm sorry that you disagree but the comment I made about anybody anywhere leaving a $4K ring in the glove compartment of a rental car (or any car for that matter) was a generalized comment which I'll stick to. If making such a comment not only labels me a "jerk" but as one who thereby "(provides) an excuse to continued crime" and that I'm therefore a "part of the problem" then so be it but I find such comments ludicrous. Maybe rather than learning a lesson which is limited to not returning to the USVI it would be more sensible to learn the lesson to leave such an expensive piece of jewelry either on your finger or in a safe. As far as being likened to a rectal orifice and the excuse therefore, I suggest you look to yourself before going on a nasty rant. 😀

Perhaps I was a little hasty in my rant but I have read many mean spirited comments in regards to my ring being stolen. It is very frustrating for me to read negative comments about how I shouldn't have left my ring in the glove box, when I am very upset about the loss of such a sentimental item. I clearly shouldn't have locked the ring in the glove box, but that does not absolve the problem of continued crime in the USVI. I did learn my lesson, but people in St. John who depend on tourists for income should learn their lesson, too. If they do not do something about the crime problems, there will be no tourists, and no income for them. I have heard others talking about how they were robbed in Italy, NYC, etc, and will go back. That is fine for them. But, my family and I just don't feel comfortable going back to the scene of the crime. There are plenty of other tropical islands to visit, where I will not be taking anything expensive.

Wow! OK ... I'm a Medicare-eligible white male who has lived on STX for about two years. Top tax bracket. In other words, a perfect GOP demographic. But I am DELIGHTED that President Obama was re-elected and that Sarah (dumber than a box of rocks) holds no office. Do I lock my doors and arm the security system? Of course. Do I take valuables to the beach? Nope. But being smart means NOT being a TeaPublican.
