Question for renters of PMV spaces????

Hello there (once more!) everyone! As I suppose I was at the very beginning of renting to support people during PMV's and therefore have done this for a few years, I know how much it helps people, but also how time consuming it can be.

My question is if you are also finding it time consuming, and if so, if it would be worth pulling together so that we have a bit of a clearing house for PMVers. In this manner, perhaps we could each take one month per year or so to field questions and support people in getting into housing on various parts of the island? It would also assist the problem of knowing what else is open when one of us is booked for a period of time. I ran into this several times this year where I was not sure of how to get people connected to other PMV hosts when I had people back to back for months.

I'm throwing this out to see if anyone would want to become involved in this and thereby free each of us up a bit and cut back on the number of individual posts.

Thanks for any feedback and/or interest you might have in this cooperative effort at accomodating people,

Dan

I rent to PMVs as well as vacation indivuduals. I really don't find it time consuming as I am retired and like to help people get started. It is true that some of these people don't have a clue but it is nice to help tem.

I agree completely, except when the housing just gets so tight in the winter. Then, finding places for people to not stay in a hotel, but experience Cruzian living is a bit more difficult. I was in part seeing if there was an interest in getting some sort of network so that should you or I not have a space to rent, and a person to house, we would have more information of who and how to get in touch. Just an idea.

I now have many friends that have passed through these apartments, and am grateful to have the ability to do this. It has in all been a lovely experience!

Thanks for your note,

Dan

Good morning all, I am going to be moving down in Oct 08' do you guys do short term rentals for a couple months. I am going to be working at the Marriott in Frenchmans Cove. So something in that area would be great.

See you all in the near future! I may need some of that local help getting settled.

Have a wonderful blessed morning.

That sounds great to me, but I am afraid I have not found other PMV hosts that are keen on this idea. That's okay, I was just checking to see if there were any interest.

Thank you for your response, and if you ever need PMV space on STX, please let me know. I have the in-law type quarters avail in two weeks. It is prorated by a daily rate ($65/day) or by the month for more than 10 days (prorate based on $650/month, summer rate.)

Best wishes, and please let me know if I can be of any help,

Dan
