Hi - I looked at the rental range posted on this website for 2 bedroom apartments in STX, but the info was dated August 2006 ($900 to $1500).

Could someone venture a guess at what a realistic rent range is now?
Could be full year lease or a short term lease for a few months, and AC is not needed.

Thanks for any help. - Joanna

Hi Joanna,
My two bedroom/2 bath apartments are $1650. They are very large, have large galleries, fully furnished, including house wares. We have a DishNetwork Premium Package which is included in the rent, and next week we are installing internet, included in the rent. The bedrooms are air-conditioned.

Electric and water are additional.

We have a small apartment complex with garbage pick-up and laundry rooms. A lot of apartments here are actually part of someones home or duplexes, something like that.

We are located in Estate St. John, which is closer to Christiansted than the west end, but it's an easy driving route. We allow pets, and we offer month to month rental agreements, for people relocating, or longer term leases.

Hope this info helps you. You can look at my website, if you want to know more about our property or see pictures. It is http://www.virginislandsrentals.com

You are right about the information being outdated. Rents on St. Croix have definitely increased in the last couple of years.

It will still be possible to find something in that range, probably as an apt in someones home. Please don't give any non-refundable deposit without actually seeing the apt.

For the west end that sounds about right ($900-$1500). It all depends on the neighborhood/street location, view, apartment, house or condo, etc... It can always be higher for a really nice place as well. Rents on the west end tend to be a little lower then center or east, so your money should go farther. But you will mostly have to drive farther for work.

With electric as high as it is don't expect it to be included.

Thanks folks for so much information. Much more than hoped for!

Just found out our long term tenant contentedly taking excellent care of our upstairs apartment got a very good management promotion. Sorry to see him go, but maybe we get an unexpected chance to stay in our own apartment this winter. His company will be relocating him very soon, so I am trying to get a quick read on where St. Croix rents have been going since the real estate troubles stateside. Fortunately our Philly neighborhood home prices have not dropped, as in many parts of the country, but no longer going up either. Strangely the rents have continued up.

I recognize your names from when I was reading and posting regularly a couple years ago, and so nice to know you are still there! Thanks.
