Hello everyone,

My wife and I live in Key West and will be moving by the end of the year. We have an 11 month old son and there isn't much here for kids to do here. We would consider St. Thomas if we knew there were activities for babies and children. Can anyone tell me what there is to do for babies and children (schooling, parks, etc. etc.) Thank you. Shawn

I teach parent and child yoga classes at America's Paradise gym
wed, 4:30pm and sun 4:00pm

You would have to wait until your son is a little older but it would be a great thing to do together.

Hello Shawn,

There are a couple kiddy parks. The pre-schools have an age requirement; I think for many its two, but I am not sure. In any case there are pre-schools. There are some parent/baby groups. Coral World is fun for kids; its an aquarium.

For older children there are sports, through their school and some community groups. Theatre groups, again mostly through school but the Pistarckle Theatre has a summer kids program. There is girls and boys scouts. Most local events have kid oriented parts. For example their is Children's parade during Carnival, fishing tournaments and/or categories for kids during tournaments, there is kids golf, tennis, the Chilli cook off has water balloon tossing and watermelon eating contests for kids, there are halloween kids things at the Mall and put on by local businesses... you get the picture.

Definitely investigate the option some more. You might order the Settlers Handbook; its a book about moving and living in the USVI. You can find more information and order it from http://www.vitraders.com
