Amazon shipping to the USVI

Here is the deal -- I heard it directly from the top:
1- Make sure your address with Amazon (you must have a login) is a P.O. Box
2- Then automatically all orders will be shipped by USPS -- they won't try to use FedEx or UPS (obviously only for products within USPS regulations and limits)
3- This is true ONLY for Amazon products, not Marketplace vendors. In that case you have to go through the pain of putting in the basket and potentially contacting them.
4- Prime is still not ready for the USVI -- because of item 3 -- once you have Prime it also works for Marketplace products. They are aware of the issue.

I'm not sure this is new information unless I'm missing something. There was this thread from a few months ago which was followed by another on the same subject a month or so later:

My address with Amazon isn't a PO Box, I ship straight to my work address.

1--you can contact them and complain, good luck

2-anything prime or free delivery is not free here. See #1

3-most items including 3rd party are at times available for USPS shipping.

4-have a couple of addresses to choose from, one that starts PO box and one that only starts with your box #. 80% of the time it will ship in the mail. (no PO in address)

5-always choose standard shipping. I will receive items within 3-4 days always.

6-weigh the cost of free shipping and additional cost of Paradise or VI cargo against your shipping fee. It is up to you as you must think about cubic foot space vs. weight. If you use either of or any freight forwarders constantly you will already have an idea of cost.

7-good luck

I just had a 40" flat screen TV shipped to me from Amazon for $25 shipping. Was shipped USPS priority, arrived in 2 days, and no damage.

I purchase all the time from Amazon. Every thing ordered either was small enough to put in my subdivision mail box or a slip is left and I pick up at PO, no problems. I've even had UPS deliver to my door here high on a hill with private drive. Go figure.

"Thank you" for providing the latest information would have sufficed...
