Its not a secret that American Eagle gates and routes from here (STT) are for sale.
What is a secret is whos buying....I hear rumors that Jet Blue is a possible buyer.
I owuld love to hear that its true....hopefully some more reasonable caribbean fares would be put in place.

American has talked about selling off American Eagle but Jet Blue doesn't have the small planes that American Eagle uses for its short hops to San Juan. Perhaps the sale of American Eagle will include planes as well as gates and routes.

I'd heard a year ago that signs were already at both STT and STX airports for Jet Blue. It was also rumored that Jet Blue was going to have some non-stop flights from JFK to both islands since now so many people fly from JFK to SJU and then hop on Eagle or Cape Air to get to the USVI. Spirit is another possibility for STX once we get some more hotel rooms built on this island. Until they build the resorts, there isn't enough room for potential vacationers to stay, so why bring in more aircraft?
