Hi,
We are going to St. Croix for a pre-move visit at the end of this month. Are there ATM's around, so we do not have to bring cash?
Thanks,
Kirana

Hello Kirana,

Yes there are ATMs.

Bring some cash though, some travelers checks would be good and Credit Cards.

Watch out for the infamous Scotiabank ATM in Christiansted town that half the time is out of cash. Has a senator burrowed a tunnel under the street to get into the thing? And beware of Scotiabank’s two ATMs at Sunny Isle. On a recent visit, the one on the right rumbled loudly and violently for a full two or three minutes before coughing up any cash. I have a hunch the governor is in that one. The next time I visit, I’m going to pour some Pepto-Bismol into the thing to see if it helps. Interestingly, the Scotiabank ATM in Frederiksted town is quiet and reliable. Apparently, our political “leaders” have no interest in that town.

I had my card eaten at the First Bank one in C'sted! Still to this day they won't tell me why!

We use the ATM at Banco Popular (both Golden Grove and Sunny Isle) with no problems. Like ATM's everywhere, there are times they don't work, but those have been few and far between.
