Car Questions?

Hello to everyone! We have been watching this chat board for quite a while and have learned a lot! Thank you all for your informative questions and answers. We are on the 20 month plan and expect to make the move in spring of 2006. (Boy~ that sounds father off than it is!) I have a question about cars. We are having trouble deciding what to do, any thought on this would be helpful!
We can ship our car from New Mexico to Miami and then to the islands. I’m unsure about the shipping charges from here to Miami and maybe driving it out there would be cheaper.
Or we can sell our car here fly to Miami buy another on and have it shipped to the islands. I realize this would mean a couple days in Miami, to find the right one and get all the paperwork together.
Or we can sell ours here and just buy another in the VI.
I know they are more expensive in the VI but how much more are we talking? With our extensive shipping needs, it may work out better to get one there. I’m not a talking new car but semi reliable 5 year old car that can hold 5 people. Thank you for any thought on this dilemma and I’m so glad all of you made it through the storm.

Hello,

You can get an idea of price of shipping a car and personal experiences by doing a search on this board or you can look at the Moving Story #11

https://vimovingcenter.com/what_to_expect/movingstory11.php

You might take a look at other moving stories too, there area a few people that drove their cars down to Florida to ship it.
