Hey - quick question - i am planning on shipping my car down, a mini cooper, this fall. I was wondering what everyone's experience has been with car service and repairs? Anyone else have a mini cooper - my car is under warranty still but obviously there aren't going to be any dealerships in STT. Let me know.

Thanks to all!
Jenny

IP: Okay, you must rent the original "The Italian Job" with Michael Caine. It has one of the greatest chase scenes ever with 3 classic Mini Coopers. (Also some XKEs and I don't remember what all.) They were cult cars in the 60's and have been reincarnated for the new generation.

And I will now put in a plug for Netflix for anyone who likes movies and is moving to the VI. Great service, free shipping, bazillions of titles. Much better than going to Red Hook Video or Blockbuster!

Jenny: I don't know what they do about service, but there are a few around.

Yes, Netflix delivers here and quite efficiently too!
I never had a movie not make it within 5 days.

Givingtree--
There are surprisingly, quite a few minis on-island. At least 5--which by my book is quite a few. In fact, someone just bought one of the new convertibles. SO CUTE! Unfortunately, I don't know where they are getting their cars serviced and I don't know an owner personally. If I come across one I will endavour to ask for you.

Also Piaa, the movies fit into the small PO Boxes, so you don't have to wait in line to collect them.

I didn't even want to ask if Netflix delivered there, just assumed it was something I'd have to give up! Thrilled doesn't describe it!

FYI - we had signed up for the Wal-mart movie thing thru the mail. Cheap but our movies came late. We might check out Netflix!

Since it is a BMW product of sorts, and there is no BMW dealer either, and quite a few of them too! Someone must be working on them. I know the MB techs come over from Puerto Rico to fix any major problems on Mercedes. There may be a local garage that does the other stuff for them. You need to check with the MC people in the states.

Wait a second! The old Mini Coopers were British to the core! They are German now????
