Hello, I've been wondering if the grocery stores on island take manufacturer coupons. Does anyone know if Pueblo or any of the other stores take coupons? I know it's hopeful wishing but I figured I'd ask anyways. Thanks!

I know Pueblo does. I assume Plaza Extra & Food Center do. Gourmet Gallery doesn't. I would guess the new owners of Pueblo will continue to do so.

Who are the new owners? Would I be wishing to much for Publix or Kroger or the likes?

Yes, World Fresh Market is the name. Wonder how much they'll live up to it...

I hope so as well. I hope they will clean up the Pueblo by Crown Bay. The last time I was in there it smelled rotten over in the produce area.

Has anyone ever heard of World Fresh Market? Do they have a website? I tried to google them, but only got the Daily News story about the sale.

We couldn't be so lucky as to have it be the same as "Fresh Market." I never had heard of World Fresh Market. I hope it's an improvement, anyway.

" Pueblo's parent company and subsidiaries declare bankruptcy
By TIM FIELDS
Tuesday, August 14th 2007

ST. THOMAS - In the wake of selling four of its supermarkets in the Virgin Islands, Nutritional Sourcing Corp. and its subsidiaries Pueblo International LLC and FLBN LLC have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Seeking court protection from creditors, the companies intend to sell their remaining food retail holdings in Puerto Rico and its Blockbuster stores, of which two are in the territory.

The whole story can be found here: http://www.virginislandsdailynews.com/index.pl/article_home?id=17613292

In my opinion, Pueblo is so roachy it can only get better or implode but losing Blockbuster would be disappointing.

There's always Netflix. 🙂 I was in Pueblo Long Bay yesterday & it's even more empty than usual so I hope they're going to upgrade everything. There were a couple of official looking types walking around & speaking in some foreign language. I doubt it could be worse than what it was.
