Okay, we are getting into high Christmas gear now. Over the next few days it will be red and green clothes, Santa hats, guavaberry and some of my favorite local songs. Trade, I promise not to sing THAT one. But I still love "How will Santa get here?" and "We need more Santa." Here is last year's thread: https://vimovingcenter.com/talk/read.php?4,55748,55936#msg-55936

Ho, Ho, Ho!! 😉

My favorite Christmas recording (and completely, mind bogglingly bizaare) is "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" by Joseph Spence, a Bahamian musician.

Trust me, get this NOW from Itunes. You'll laugh the rest of the year.

In this song he sounds like a drunken, ancient, profoundly demented, barely verbal Popeye. There are only a few recognizable words. "You better (mumble mumble), you better (mumble mumble), more mumbling, then "Sanny Claus is com-in to hurrrrrrrr". For the bridge he goes into a truly schizophrenic grunting rant.

I LOVE that guavaberry song, "We come for the guavaberry..."!!!

But coming in at a close second is "How will Santa get here," which I heard for the first time yesterday in a STX taxi. Very fitting.

Barbie, it's a traditional drink at this time of year. Lots of people make it at home.

Look for lots of green Santa hats. Heineken has been passing them out.

You can get a really nice bottle of guavaberry at Cost U Less for $5.49! It's made in the DR. Not the one made in St Maarteen. That one is not as good at all.
