Hi everyone! I need a wisdom tooth removed. I am a big baby when it comes to having a tooth pulled. I need a dentist who will sedate me. Any recommendations or advice?

Thanks,

Tammy

I had the same issues! First, go see Dr. Kurt Buska in Gallows Bay, an excellent dentist with decades of experience and trained in the States. He'll take good care of you and then send you to a oral surgeon.

I went to Dr Buska this week with a toothache. Had no appoinment but he saw me anyway. Said I had a bad wisdom tooth and offered to pull it then and there. He numbed me up real well. I felt no pain during the process. And no pain or soreness after. See him today as he's closed weekends.

Thanks specialK and Stxer1. This is not an emergency. The day before I came back to the island I had my regular dental appointment with my dentist in the states and he discovered that one of my wisdom teeth was slightly loose and the gum around it was swollen. He wanted to pull it right then but I said no as I was flying the next morning. Also I had a wisdom tooth pulled before and it was not a good thing. He put me on antibiotics and told me that I would be ok for a few weeks but would need it pulled. It doesn't hurt at all but the gum is starting to swell again so I am anticipating that it might start hurting.

I am a huge baby when it comes to the dentist so I go into panic attack even to have a novacaine shot. I need to have the laughing gas stuff. LOL!

Thanks again,

Tammy

I do understand about fear of the dentist. I was the same way as you are. But, the wisdom tooth incident taught me a huge lesson.

Putting off dealing with it for weeks and months made the entire problem WORSE! This sounds obvious but when you are afraid, postponing treatment doesn't feel like the mistake it is.

Now, when something needs treatment, I bite the fear bullet and get it done. Don't put things off because it only makes matters worse!! Good luck.

Don't think anyone is going to be flying to Newport Beach, CA, from the Virgin Islands just to have a tooth pulled. Good try, tho.

Did you just make an account at a random message board, dig up a 7 month old topic about dentistry and recommend someone fly halfway around the world just to promote yourself?
